    *bouncing off walls* I'm SO EXCITED!!!!! :D :D :D

I had my 2nd OBGYN appt. today and I was told I was only going to hear the heartbeat, but they did a quick sonogram too because I had some light spotting earlier in the week. So not only did Josh and I get to hear the heartbeat (150 bpm), we also got to see our baby!!! It was AWESOME!!!! I'm bouncing off walls, I'm so excited.

Almost the entire time, the little bugger was facing my back - which meant it was mooning us via the sonogram. It wasn't until the dr. pushed on my belly really hard that it flipped around and we could see it's face a little bit. I could see where the eyes are, the ears, she pointed out the spine and a little white blip that was a hand. Then the little brat flipped back over to moon us. LOL It's a Patterson, alright.

I will try and scan it sometime in the next few days (probably not 'til at least Monday though) and post it here for you all to say hi to my little Nug. Only 4-5 more weeks until I find out of it's a Nugget or a Nuggette. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Yeah, I'm still addicted to nuggets. I get them once a week, or longer if I can manage. Only from Wendy's. They're so good!!

Jods, I heard it was normal to hear the heartbeat at your 2nd dr. appt. Today was my second. My next is July 18th and I think they'll refer me to someone else to do the sonogram. I *should* be able to find out around then, if it's a Nugget or a Nuggette. Hearing the heartbeat is amazing. "Seeing" the baby is even more amazing. Even if s/he moons you the entire time. I wished the sonogram would never end. I can't wait to hold it.

As for names, Gina, we are set on the girls names but still working on the boys. We're 99% sure if it's a girl, she'll be Katharine (Kate) Elisabeth. We may sneak Rachel Victoria in there, but we both LOOOOVE Kate whereas I love Rachel, but my husband only thinks it's "okay".

For boys, we're still throwing names around. We have a couple contenders - Noah James and Evan ????? I want Evan Michael, he likes Evan Matthew. I also like Alexander a lot, but he doesn't. And he likes Gabriel a lot, but I don't. So we're much more set on girls than boys!

    Any ideas??

Those are great names! I always liked Kathryn Rose. My ex and I had kinda decided on it, then we got a brochure in the mail for a porcelain doll named Kathryn Rose, it was so crazy! If we'd stayed together and had a girl, that was going to be the name. My mom's first name is Elizabeth, so, I love both of those. I've never been a big fan of Rachel, but, that's just my opinion. I like Noah and Evan a lot, too! I've always liked classic names, so, I'm always being looked at weird when I say the names I like. I like Gabriel. But, names like Julian, and Oliver. Those are cool. I love Noah, though! I'm so excited for you, Jaime, and, can't wait to see the sonogram pic!

Nope, no morning sickness. Just some MAJOR fatigue. It was much worse back in May. As I've gotten closer to my second trimester (I'm 13.5 weeks along now, so I'm basically "there"), it's gotten much better. I can stay away driving home from work and also when I go to baseball games with my husband now!

As for names... we like old classic names moreso than "trendy" which is a little unfortunate because my husband comes from a large family with lots of boys and they all have classic names as well, and my husband refuses to "repeat". I love the name Nicholas, but it's his brother, so it's out. I love Michael and Ryan but those are two cousins and they're out. That's one reason finding a boys name has been so difficult. My husband is Joshua - my favorite boys name ever - but neither of us want to do the Sr./Jr. thing. So THAT'S out. I'd be happy to get one more name on the contender list so we'd have Noah, Evan and _______ to choose from. I may keep on pushing for Alexander (Alex Patterson = SO CUTE!!!) since I'd been mentioning Evan for awhile and that originally got the nix as well. Men. What a pain in the butt!

Oh and Kari - Rachel Victoria has been my favorite name since 1992 when I "made it up" for a story I was writing. If this one isn't Rachel and we have another girl later on, she most likely will be. I don't know why it's stuck with me so long but I figure any name that has 13+ years of staying power shouldn't go to waste!! Funny thing is, I don't like the name nearly as much if Victoria isn't the middle name. I'm weird.

As promised, here is a scan of my first sonogram. It doesn't look like much but when the sonogram was actually going on, it really did look much more like a baby. I could see the head and even ears. I wish it were as clear on this print out.

Right now, I'm just shy of week 14. Nugget/Nuggette is the size of a lemon right now. S/He's got downy hair growing all over his/her body and the liver starts secreting bile this week. Teeth are forming up in the gums. Fingernails and toenails are now starting to grow. Due to brain impulses, my little peanut can grimace, frown and squint and can also grasp and suck his/her thumb if it floats up near his/her mouth.

Sorry if I'm boring you guys with this - I just find it fascinating that all of that is happening right inside me. I know it happens every day but it's just so surreal.

I'm going for my 3rd appt on the 5th of July maybe he'll let me hear it then. My sonogram to find out the sex is the 11!!! I'm sooo excited I hope the little bean cooperates. I'm still sooo nervous even though I know second trimester is past the miscarraige stage for the most part. It will be nice to hear the HB. Oh yeah I go to meet the doctor that will deliver my baby on the 7th.. July is going to be busy!!!

I love your sonogram pics what a cutie !! I wouldn't have wanted them to stop. LOL. Did you have to drink all that water?? It hurt sooo bad when I went at 8 weeks I felt like my bladder was gonna explode!!

No, I didn't have to drink a lot of water. I wasn't supposed to have a sonogram but they did a quick one because I'd had some light spotting earlier in the week and they wanted to take a look at the baby to make sure it was okay. Guess I'll have to do the water thing for the next few!
