    Pictures from the Connecticut Meeting

I just want to say thank you to Karen and Paul who came all the way from Boston and picked up Albea (Alicia..I hope I spelled that right) and to Moos Mom who was here in CT visiting....we had a wonderful evening chatting and enjoying each other at the Olive Garden.

The night started off a little shaky as Mark and I arrived at the Olive Garden at 5:40 pm and put our name in. I was told it would be about 45 minutes to an hour wait time. Everyone arrived and we got to introductions and chatting.

Here are the ladies of the party. Sitting down from left to right are Alicia (Albea) and Donna (Moos Mom). In the back from left to right are myself (Meg) and Karen.

We then took one with the gentlemen. (Left to right) Mark (my husband) and Paul.

After a good 40 minutes I decided to check on how much longer of a wait we would have as they were seating a lot of people and the crowd was thinning out. I was told we had on ly another 20 minutes or so....well after 30 more minutes I went back to check on things to be told that our table would be ready in 5 minutes....after 10 more minutes I finally asked to speak with a manager and we were seated promptly. Donna will be posting a photo of me pi$$ed off...as she put it...actually I was being kind...I usually make Mark run and hide from embarassment.

We had a wonderful waiter named Larry,

who by the way has 3 cats of his own. He shared some wonderful stories of his 3 with us. Larry has Garbo (a male...long story on the name) but Larry used to captain yachts and Garbo used to sail with him and had his very own life vest. Larry proceeded to tell us about how he was packing to go to Michigan for a regatta and Garbo went into the closet and unpacked his life vest. Larry said he felt so bad that Garbo still wanted to sail with him but Garbo could not go with him on this trip.

This was the manager of the Olive Garden who checked on us quite a few times during the night, seeing we were off to a shaky start. I think his name was Shawn.

We shared many fun stories about our pets and just life in general.

Donna shared with Larry and I some very fresh catnip......so Donna this is for you.....YOU CREATED MONSTERS!!!

I get in the door, put my purse down and I turn around to see this..........................

Thanks for the NIP Auntie Donna....I got my head stuck in meowmie's purse......

Thank you Karen, Paul, Alicia and Donna...Mark and I had a wonderful night with all of you. I hope that we can do this again sometime.

We got Alicia (Albea) home safe, and I went in with her to apologize to Carina for keeping her momma out so late!

And I even might have a couple Carina pictures, she hasn't let Alicia take her picture for two years, so I felt obliged to try! A true Golden, she was more interested in being loved on than that flashy box!

Just posting so you'll know we all made it home okay. I'll try to get our pictures up tomorrow, including a famous and incredible bridge in Alicia's city ...

(how's that for leaving you all in suspense!)

How wonderful that you got pictures of Carina for us Karen!! We haven't seen her in so long!!! I totally understand Albea's problem...Duncan hears the almost silent "click" of the camera opening and immediately grabs a ball and gets in my face....NO opportunity for good photos! Unless you like pictures of noses and tongues...

Glad you are home safe!! Look forward to more pictures!!

What great fun! And even though the wait was irritating, it DID give you more of a chance to talk!!!

Nice too that the kitties had a party once you got home!

We did have a great time, and you never saw six better behaved people (this is for Jen who was worried about what we would do )
I'm so thankful to Karen and Paul for giving me a ride and the opportunity to meet them, Donna, Meg and Mark.
I'm not sure that Carina was any better at sitting for Karen that she is for me.
The problem is that she's so afraid of the flash that the minute she sees me with the camera she runs away as far as her arthritis will let her and I can't explain to her that I don't always need to use the flash.
Anyway, it was lots of fun.
Donna, have a good trip back home.
