A couple of weeks ago, a man stabbed his Rottie mix. He "claims" he was wrestling with the dog and the knife was laying on the floor unsheathed and that's how it happened. Of course the police were skeptical. They ended up arresting the guy and Dixie, the rottie, got a great new home.
Here's my letter:
Poor Dixie, the Rottweiler mix, is yet another victim of animal cruelty.
Animal cruelty is at an all-time high. We, the people of this country are the voices of these poor animals who cannot speak for themselves.
It's about time the laws were changed to make this hideous crime a felony, with mandatory jail time and stiff fines.
Until that time, animals will continue to be tortured, abused and killed by monsters who will continue to get away with it.
I beg the judicial system to please make an example of Dixie's former owner and send a message that animal cruelty will not be tolerated!!
