    Here we go again!

Some of you might remember when I had problems with my next door neighbor, Judy, a couple of years ago. I was feeding stray cats and she objected. At the time, she contacted the law and I ended up taking in the strays and building a cat enclosure.

    Well, she's at it again.

I thought that when she got on medications, she would mellow some. Her son-in-law and daughter seemed to think so too.

Since February, I have been feeding 7 cats that were left behind when someone moved. They started out as new kittens. I have trapped and neutered all of them, but with 7 cats in the house and enclosure, I don't have room for more.

This morning I saw her adult daughter shooing the cats away from my tree. Seems one of the cats was chasing a squirrel. For the first ime in two years, Judy talked to me.

"How long are you going to keep feeding these cats? I'm tired of picking up dead animals and having them mess in my yard."

I'm actually getting close to touching these cats. I petted one of them this morning. But until they aren't afraid of people, they can't find homes.

The shelter I use is always full. Most are. I will contact any other shelters I can find, but I really don't know what else to do.

I coould really use some suggestions and maybe a prayer or two.

Please please be careful dealing with this woman. We don't want another case like THIS. I don't know how reasonable she is but these kitties need to be tamed so they can find homes. Does she understand you are trying to make it so these cats can get new homes and be off the streets? Try to make her understand this. But please whatever you do be careful. For the good of these poor kitties and yourself.

Please be careful! That chick sounds like she's not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

    Thanks for the concern.

She is on medications but she won't leave her yard. She's agorophobic as well as depressed. She wouldn't do anything to me, but I don't know what she might do to the cats (as long as her daughter & son-in-law didn't know about it.) Yes, she is aware of my intentions.

The good news is that I'm making progress with the cats. I was actually able to pet two of them last night and this morning! And another is not running away when I try to touch her. If this woman will give me a few more weeks, I should have them all 'touchable'.

Now all I need is foster homes. Or better, furever homes.

Mary, I am ashamed that I don't read this board more often. I can offer no help as there is "no room at the inn", for sure, and I'm dealing with my own cat issues at the moment. But I will offer a prayer that everything will be ok. You are making such wonderful progress!!!
