    digital cameras

My birthday is coming up in August and I want to ask for a digital camera. I hate having to attatch pictures and would like to be able to just take them and put them on my computer from my camera. I was wondering what camera everyone uses and if you could post like one or two pictures (of anything) you have taken with it so I can get a good idea of the quality of pictures it takes. Thanks in advance!

  3. Everybody has a different view on their cameras. And you can post pictures here without a digi too, just get a photo uploader like photobucket.

I have a Canon PowerShot A510 and so far, I have nothing bad to say about it! I love it! And it has many settings too! Its amazing!

In my opinion, Canons are THE way to go!

I have two digital cameras. One of them is a Canon Powershot A70 (my first digital) which has 3.2 megapixels and my newer one is a Canon Powershot A95, which has 5.0 megapixels. I've found Canons to be VERY user-friendly.

Here's the review for the A95:

    http://www.steves-digicams.com/2004_reviews/a95.html

Here are just a few of the many pictures I've taken (I believe that all of these were taken with my A95).

It was a little pricey when I bought it (around $400.00) but it's come down in price now.. I've seen it in stores for $250.00-$300.00.

I have had two Sony's over the past 5+ years and just LOVE them. I got a new one, not because the old one went bad, but because I lost it. I *did* find it though, so now I have two. I don't think I would go with another brand. They're small and lightweight, VERY easy to use, take great videos with sound, and the picture quality is excellent. I have absolutely no complaints with Sony.....LOVE their cameras.

Here's a picture I took with my Sony Cybershot DSC-P8 yesterday...

Dawn, what kind of Sony Cybershot did you get?

Wouldn't get anything other than a Canon here. If you do a search for my name & pictures you can see many pictures of mine.

    I currently have a Canon PowerShot A80. My other was a A60.
I've used many digitals (Sony, Kodak, Fuji, Nikon, Olympus) and Canon, in my opinion, blows them all out of the contest.

If I weren't to get a Canon it'd be an Olympus or Nikon, but I plan on sticking with Canons.

They're very user-friendly, very high quality photos, high quality videos & sound. Take nice pictures of all sorts. (My favorite is to take pictures at night time.)

All of my friends that have different brand cameras end up saying they want a Canon after using mine and seeing the results.

  8. I have a Kodak Easy Share,, its a 3.1 mega pixel. my fist digital cam that i got for my birthday almost a year ago now.

i LOVE it. but it seems to be taking dark indoor pictures for some reason and i cant figure out why. it didnt used to.. it used to take really nice indoor shots. i cant figure out if my camera,, or my computer monitor...

click here to see a thread of resent pictures that ive posted
    http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthre...threadid=83033

dont forget to click the links below the pictures to see the detailed shots,, and then left click on the picture when it loads. when ever you resize pictures,, it makes it so that you cant see LOADS of details.

i used to resize my pictures,, but i never do anymore(unless its for posting here on Pet Talk) the ones that i did resize i wish i hadent...

oh and you might want to invest in a CD DVD ROM if you dont have one already,, and buy a CD Burner.(you need a DVD CD ROM in order for it read the disk) so that you can save all your pictures to a disk. that way there if you reformat or something stupid happens with your computer,, you wont ever lose your pricless pictures. and you can burn a lot more stuff then just pictures on there too,, you can burn pretty much anything you want.

I have a Sony Cybershot as well, about 3 years old now. When we were shopping for cameras and researched them, the two we came down to were Canon and Sony. Reading further reviews, we found out that the Sony model and its counterpart Canon model (both 3.3 megapixels at that time) had the exact same lens (from the same manufacturer), zoom, most of the same features, etc, but Canon had a higher price tag because of the name, so we went with the Cybershot and I've never regretted it. The reviews I read gave them identical ratings.

A few recent pics from mine:
