    Black Devil strikes again!

I didnt know where to put this, so I hope it's ok here. We live on the outskirts of town, and my cats have always gone in and out as they please because it's quite safe here, no traffic, or neighbors that could hurt them. This huge black tom cat has been coming here and fighting with my cats. This happens about once or twice a week, day or night, or whenever the black cat feels like it. He actually chased one of my cats into the house through the kitty door the other day and attacked him in the hallway. When he does get a good bite into one of my cats, the bite wound will swell up just huge, and they get a high fever, I keep antibiotics on hand in case this happens again. I've been limiting there time outside now, and they have learned to try and stay clear of the black cat, but he still gets surprise attacks in for out of no where!
I tried to live trap him, and take him to the vet in town here who takes in the strays(he's a stray, I can tell by his huge neck and wild look), but he is much too smart for that, I've caught my own in the trap a few times when someone has let them out accidently, LOL! How do I get this cat away from my home, or stop these attacks on my babies? They just love to go outside and are soooo unhappy when I ground them to the house! But this cat is making them sick! The black cat looks healthy but who knows! He was just here and chased my little Oliver up the tree, I sprayed it with the hose but he's standing out of my reach now!

Gosh, I'm sorry I can't help you out here. I'm thinking that this really falls under Cat Rescue and I know that there are lots of rescuers out there who can help you get "tom" into the vets. Good luck.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!
