Today marks two years since Chase joined our family. He was a foster then, but I adopted him shortly after Hoodoo died.
Chase came into the shelter as a four month old puppy, all legs and ears! He left as an 18 month old, still all legs and ears!

Growing up in a shelter does funny things to a dog's head. I always tell Chase that he has a couple screws loose! He's sweet as sugar, can't get enough attention, but he's just not all there. It's part of his charm though!
My life would be a poorer place without Chase, but Goldie's life would be miserable. She adores him. They are a funny looking pair with her short legs and his long, lean physique, but they truly love each other. Chase adds a great deal to Goldie's world--fun, companionship and joy.
He's a pretty good sled dog who likes to run in the back of the team (wheel position).
It's hard to believe that this happy, friendly, silly boy is the same dog I had to literally drag to my truck two years ago. I ended up hoisting him over my shoulder and carrying him outside. The shelter was the only home he'd ever known and he knew it wasn't his turn to go for a walk that afternoon. He was very reluctant to leave the security of his kennel. Now when we drop by to visit, he won't get out of the truck!
