    Fizz isn't eating!! :(

I don't know what to do or what I did!! Our betta, Fizz, just suddenly stopped eating 2 or 3 days ago, and won't eat anymore! He was ever so eager for eating once a day (a little pinch of betta pellets) before, but now he's not interested, and is getting really skinny!! What's going on?? Did I feed him too much (I really tried not to) or why do you think he's not eating?? I sure hope he starts eating again SOON!! -sigh-

    Thanks Kay!!

My bettas do that every once in awhile. They will go days without eating then they will all of a sudden eat again. It is a normal thing around here. I hope that is the case with yours.

He might be constipated. Try feeding him a plain cooked pea (cut it in pieces). And that should clear him out.

Does he have any other symptoms?

Well, he could be constipated. I'd try the pea thing for that. It could be depression, if it's that then every so often hold and/or place a mirror beside him for a few hours so he can "spar" with his reflection hopefully giving him some excitement and reason for eating.lol. It could be an infection or disease, there are alot out there, so first things first. Are there any odd things about him, any particular dramatic changes to his body (fins damaged, scales, so on), or the way he moves, etc... Another thing, is his water temperature within an appropriat range that stays constant, bettas become lethargic in cold water and drastic changes can easily stress them to becoming unhappy and unhealthy. Hope this covers some possibilites and helps, best of luk.

Bettas can go up to two weeks without food. But I wouldn't try that.
