    Wal*Mart Betta Rescue...

Look at this poor little guy I rescued from Wal*Mart tonight... we think someone put another Betta in with him...

Here's two pictures I took before I got him in some fresh water, you can see the pieces of his tail in the bottom of the tank.

Here he is in some fresh water, hasn't eaten yet... But he's acting MUCH better.

    Any name suggestions???????????

Bless his little soul! And thank you for saving him! We shall keep our fingers, paws and fins crossed he'll soon be healthy again!

As for names, how about Redbeard? Or Barbosa (which comes from the name Redbeard)?

Their fins grow out again? Really?

When I got my betta, Bruce, part of his fin was floating in the bottom of his cup.

why would you support walmart by buying a fish from them. he is most likely just going to die...

    They dont return fish either...

It looks like he got in a fight with another male betta..

    good luck with him..

that's his tail at the bottom of the cup? That's horrible! will it grow back? are you sure it's not fin rot?

    Yup, that's his tail!

I'm pretty sure it hasn't turned into fin rot yet, but I'm treating him anyway... Just to play it safe.

    And it will grow back.

Good luck with him! I know you're very good with your fishies (and other pets) and he'll be looking great after he's been in your care. Thank you for helping this poor fishy

Wow, that's pretty damn rude to tell someone their pet is going to die.

I didn't see this post before.

I don't think of it as "supporting" Wal*Mart, I would NEVER buy a fish from them unless it was in this condition, and after I buy one, I make sure to call and complain to the manager. I always take pictures of the horrible conditions they come home in, someday I'd like to write them a letter and include these photos...See what they say then!
And to date I have 5 Wal*Mart rescues, one who is over 3 years old, and they are all doing wonderful.

well in that case. all the power to ya .
I just figured your walmart was like mine, all the fish I have ever bought there die within a couple weeks.

Good luck with this guy. I hope he lives.

I posted that because of it being a walmart fish, they are very sickley and usually come from bad breeding and moxing of unhealthy fish.

Just going by what I have seen at my Walmart, I know that 80% of the fish bought from them die within a couple weeks even if they have awesome living conditions once they are bought.

I worked for a year at a petstore near the local walmart here and sooo many people came in complaining about their fish and how their bettas were dieing or how their tropical fish had ich, etc...

I am just stating what might happen. But If she has had bettas live from them before. By all means go for it. But I would never buy a fish from them, just from what I have herd and experienced..
