Please Keep Cheddar and Rolley in Your Thoughts :(

My cousin's dog, Cheddar, has to have surgery today. He is a golden retreiver and is about 12 years old. He has a tumor on his spleen and has to have it removed.

My cousin also has the dog Rolley who you might have seen my last thread about him. (He is also sick, but not as badly and could get better he also just had surgery on Monday)

Please keep them both in your thoughts. They are like my cousin's children, he has no family out in Portland and if anything were to happen to them it would be so hard for him. My mom is going to call my aunt (his mom) later and see how Cheddar is doing. Hopefully he will be ok.

Prayers for the pooches. I know what it's like worrying about a tumor removal. My RB rat, Icarus, had a tumor removed.

Cheddar is at home now, I'm not sure how he is doing. I'm finishing up the scrapbook I started of them last month to send over to my cousin tomorrow. I'll update as soon as I know how they are.

Edit: My mom just got off the phone with my cousin, he'll find out on Tuesday if Cheddar has cancer or not. Please pray that he doesn't!

Well, I have some bad news.

The tumor was cancer, and it spread.

My cousin isn't going to do chemo because Cheddar is already 12 years old, but he is going to talk to some natural vet about what he can do.

Please pray for Cheddar and that he gets better or atleast isn't in any pain.

I also wanted to say that my cousin called me last night and said that he got the scrapbook and the picture I drew him just as he got home from finding out Cheddar was sick. He said it made him feel much better.

My RB GSD, Leather, ad a tumor when she was 7 that turned out to be malignant as well. She was given 3 months to live, and lived four YEARS. With good care, I bet Cheddar can live a good life.

No news on Cheddar yet, but my cousin is one of the best dog owners and will be giving him (and Rolley) the best care they can get!
