    Buttercream needs a home

I'm cross-posting this for a friend. Sharon does TNR. Buttercream is currently at the vets getting spayed. Sharon is in Stewartstown, PA and the vet is in White Hall, MD. You can see photos of Buttercream at the link below. Contact Sharon at [email protected] for more information.

    Buttercream's a sweetie

I'm the one who trapped Buttercream. Bonnie, who works at the vet's, said she carried Buttercream around yesterday morning, and the little girl wants to be someone's love. Just in case anyone's still thinking about her. . . . If no one comes forward, I'll bring her back & turn her loose.

    Maerlyn,

That seems such a shame to turn her loose, especially if she is longing to be someone's pet.

If it comes down to it, I can take her in. I'll foster her till a home can be found. I live in Michigan and will have to have a transport. As long as she is spayed and tests negative for all the usuall kitty diseases AND is UTD on her shots. I guess I have sucker written across my forehead.

    Keep me posted.

Thanks, moosmom; if there's no other interest, I'll let you know. I believe she came from the farm down the road, so she has a home of sorts, deficient though it be. (Ourside cats only; they let theirs breed, so I'll never catch up, let alone get ahead.) I'll keep you posted.

Donna, it's not sucker that's written on your forehead. It's caring compassionate human and it's not just written there, it's tattoed. Thanks so much for offering to help Buttercream. Hopefully she will find a home soon, but if not, I know you'll do the best you can to give her a real home until her furrever home is found.

I am so grateful to you! There is hopeful news - someone from another board will adopt Buttercream *if* her vet says it's ok, as her pugs are allergic but are on meds. She has a call into her vet now; he's in surgery, and she'll let me know as soon as she hears from him. The only 'caveat' is that she will have Buttercream declawed, as a safety precaution for her dogs' protruding eyes - which I understand. I personally don't like declawing, but it's certainly preferable to what the cat's had thus far. I'll let you all know!

    Maerlyn,

Although I am dead set against declawing, if it came down to putting a cat down vs. declawing and getting a furrever home, I'd vote for the latter as well.

I hope Buttercream has a wonderful life. Please keep us posted on her progress!

Like you, moosmom, I'm against declawing - but it's still better than walking around, with claws, but hungry & full of ticks.

I just got home & found a message from Bonnie, who also knows someone who might be interested, so things are looking up for Buttercream. And not to worry - Bonnie's contact can have first choice at the next one - a smoky grey shorthair who's been coming at night. The trap goes out this evening!

I'll certainly let you know what happens with Buttercream; I'm so grateful for you concernj!

Just to update you on Buttercream ~
Trudy's vet couldn't say how her allergic dog(s) may react, but something in Trudy's heart is calling her to Buttercream, so - on Thursday, Trudy & I will meet & transfer Buttercream into her loving care. And she's decided to try the nail caps instead of declawing, which she knows is cruel. So, on Thursday, Buttercream will be going to her furever loving home!

Thanks so much for your care & concern.

    Have a happy life BC.

Sharon ~ Another great job finding a forever home for one of your "wanderers". I've lost track of how many you have saved. The kitties all seem to sense that you are a loving and caring woman. One by One, you are making a difference.

    Buttercream

Thank you, Lisa, for the kind words, and for your support; both mean so very much. I just do what I can, and I guess a few kitties are better off because they crossed my path (and my trap !)

I well remember when I rescued my "special precious petite prinCESS Althea" - a friend asked why I was doing it, noting that there was probably at least one more kitten along that deserted road, and "you can't save them all." Right - I can't - but I could & did save this *one* - and that's what we do - save those we can, help those we can, and pray for the rest.

Very well said *maerlyn*. I am so glad Buttercream found a wonderful home and will send out good vibes in hopes that everything works out for the special little baby.
