    Guitar Straps...

Ok, so I'm looking at getting a guitar strap for the guitar I don't own. Anyway...I want to get one off eBay of something. We don't really have any music stores around here. Can I put it on myself? Is it hard? Do I need anything other than the strap? I don't know anything about them, as you can tell.

Oh, and is there any specific length I should get? Or are they all kinda the same?

Are you talking about the strap that goes around your kneck?

All of the guitars i've seen just have holes at the end of the strap, which the guitar has little 'nubs'... but the guitars i've see are old-sih.

    See.. like that.

Then there's little nubs on the guitar which the hole slides on to?
I dunno if it's different for different guitars, though.

Yeah like that. That's a cool one, it was on eBay Lol.

I'm wondering if I have to buy lock things? They had some on eBay and I don't know what they are. Do I have to unscrew the little nub things, or do I just put the holes on top?

All the ones i've used it was like a large nubby thing, then a tiny rod. You push the hole over the nubby and it rests on the rod. If that makes sense.

Like I said, it may be different for different guitars, but if your guitar you plan to purchase has a 'lock' type thing available, i'd get them. I'm paranoid like that.

I've seen many many guitars, and I've never seen or heard of a guitar that doesn't have what Kay described. The holes at the end of the strap push over the nobs on the guitar and stay in place.

For length, as long as it's a normal strap (nothing for a kiddo) you can adjust your length. You can have it really low for rocking out and trying to look uber cool, or higher up to play a slower more serious song, etc.

Guitars are wonderful, we have several all varying in electric, bass, and acoustic. Have fun!!

The holes in the strap just fits over top of the 'nob'. It's easy to do. And no, you don't unscrew anything

It comes off just as easy. The slit on the strap is a little bigger then the nob, so you can put it on and take it off easily. It doesn't fall off either, so you don't have ot worry.

Yeah but the ends are like nylon or something...so I didn't know if that was considered 'cheap' and I should get a leather one...lol. Sorry.
