I was talking about my new little "foster" kitten at work today, and one of my co-workers told me that his 8-year-old son saw a cat run out of their garage, and chased it with a baseball bat, and hit it, and knocked it out cold!He said they thought the cat was dead, but after a few minutes it got up and shook it's head like it was in a daze, and ran off. They were worried when they thought it was dead, but laughed at it when it got up and acted dazed.
My coworker was actually LAUGHING about this!![]()
I was very upset. Why would he encourage his son to do something like this, and then tell others about it and laugh about it?!?

I told him I thought it was extremely cruel, and he just laughed and described the cat's reaction again. I don't particularly like this co-worker, and this just strenghtened my dislike for him. He doesn't seem to think this action by his son was anything to be concerned about. I feel sorry for him, and for his son, and for any animals they may ever run across!
