Guess what??!! We got 2 bettas!!! :D

Well, read the subject line, we got two bettas!! Yay!! I was hoping we could for a long time, they seem like such neat pets! We got a male and female (separated of course) and I think they're beautiful! Also, what is the plant you can buy that grows into their cage and they eat off the roots?? Just wondering! On with the pics! Sorry they're kind of blurry... Also, we named the female Coral, and my siblings insisted on naming the male Marlin...haha, really funny. I like calling him Fizz, lol!

    The male...(I like this one!)

    (this one's good too!)

    Sorry this one's quite blurry...

    More coming...

    Thanks Kay!!

    Thanks Kay!!

Congratulations! They're both beautiful I especially love the male, I've never seen one with his colouring before.

They are both beautiful . The male's color pattern is called a butterfly (body one color with the fins half that color and half another color). Bettas will nibble plant roots but cannot subsist wholly off of them as they are carnivores. I'm not sure if you saw it, but I put together a rough betta care post last week based off a lot of reading and research. It is Here if you'd like to look it over. The betta forum at fishforums.net is also a wonderful learning resource I've found.

Best wishes and congratulations on your beautiful bettas!

Congrats! Your butterfly is so handsome!

Do as I and others have done and join a betta, or other fish forum. They're helpful, and you'll learn a LOT from them!

I'm a member of Flippers & Fins, Betta Talk, and a couple of others, lol.

Katie, another really great site with tons of info on bettas is www.bettatalk.com. It's actually not a forum, so you wouldn't have to sift through lots of threads to find basic information. Enjoy your fishies, they're gorgeous!
