    10 weeks and counting

Two years ago I tried to quit smoking. Needless to say I didn't
I posted a thread stating that Today is the day. Needles to say it wasn't.

But I just wanted to inform those of you that stood behind me and rooted me on that as of today both Mark and I have been smoke free for 10 weeks! I always felt really guilty that I didn't stop sooner since all of you were really trying to help me, but now....I'm a non smoker!
Not that I don't want one every now and then but I'm good and don't backslide. Neither one of us has had even one since the day we said w were quiting.
I am really happy and proud of Mark because he's smoked for almost 30 years!

Just wanted to give a big

    to everyone

Good for you both! I know it's hard. My dad didn't quit until it was about too late. He had been smoking since he was 15 and was about 60. When he started bleeding out of his eye, that scared him. So, I wish you all the best luck in staying smoke free. You'll start feeling a lot better soon. Your breathing will improve and things will taste better(that can sometimes be bad ) We're proud of you both.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Thats GREAT Anna!! I know how hard it is to quit smoking. In fact my husband and I (his name is Mark also) are quitting too.
We are so sick of doing something that costs so much and it's so unhealthy! Did you guys use the patch or anything or did you go cold turkey? I'm so proud of you both. I can't wait until I can say I've been smoke free for 10 weeks.

Thank you Kay for the beautiful sig!

Congratulations!!! I've never been a smoker, but I've been trying to kick my McDonald's Coke habit and I just can't, so I know what you're going through. My dad quit after probably at least 30 years of smoking too - just went cold turkey and never looked back.

    WAY to GO!!!!
