    Sad Update On The Babies....

Well, first off when I went out early this morning to check the babies I discovered Maggie had given birth to another baby. It was dead, it was all deformed and such... not a pleasent sight... Then when I went in the nest to check on the first 3, I could only find 2, one of the healthy kits and the peanut.

I was frantic... I began searching through the nest and then I found the other kit. It was had wandered too far from the other kits and was very, very cold and appeared dead. I brought it inside to try and revive it and after a while it started to come back to life. It started moving its legs and mouth but was just too weak and died shortly after.....

Sadly first litters usually don't go well for most Holland Lops. So now we've only got 1 healthy baby and the little peanut.

Please keep my 2 little ones in your prayers.

Here they are, this was just taken.

Poor babies. Can you put them in a big box so they cannot wander far from mom? That is so sad. I hope the other two make it.

    Just another update.

We've got the babies in a nice warm room inside so they are nice and cozy. We're bringing Maggie inside once a day to feed them and so far everything is going smoothly. We lay Maggie on her back and give each kit a turn to nurse. This way the little peanut doesn't get hurt and gets a fair amount of milk. Right now both babies have full bellies are doing fine.

Here are a few new pics.

    Aren't they precious?
