My baby boy jezter wont eat! plz help anyone

i have a 14 mo old 90lb Husky/Wolf named Jezter. he is my baby boy. usually he is very aggressive and excited when its time to eat. over the last few days his appetite has decreased and today he didnt eat at all, i even tried giving him tuna and treats and he barely touched either. ive looked over everything and its all normal; wet nose, no swelling anywhere, nothing around his teeth. he still wags his tail like normal and is still loving, but his energy level and appetite are just gone, he doesnt jump around and everything like normal. i dont know what to do. im unemployed at the moment and dont have the money for a vet otherwise i would have already taken him there. i need help, i dont know what ill do if i lose him. hes all i have right now. ive had him since he was 8 weeks, hes my baby boy. please please someone help me. i dont know where to go from here. i cant lose him. any help would be greatly appreciated. anything at all. thank anyone who can help.

Is he an outside only dog? Maybe he got into something?

Is he fixed? If not, maybe there is a girl in heat and he getting all worked up about it.
Have you noticed him loosing weight?

I'm sorry to hear about Jezter. Does he have a fever? Have you looked at his gums?are they pale? How about his eyes? Are they glazed over? You are usually the best judge of your own dog, it you feel something is wrong, it may be as you know him best. How is his stool? Is he having diarrhea? Have you tried taking him for an extended walk or letting him outside with you for an extended time? I know this sounds silly and gross but sometimes, I think if my Dog Duncan has to go #2 he won't eat anymore until he goes. I'll take him for extra long walks and sometimes he will go a few times, come home and eat right away. Dogs in the wild are always a little bit hungry I have heard and that is the natural state of wolves. I think humans may overfeed sometimes and the dog may feel a little ill because of it. I assume you feed him at specific mealtimes, not leave food out all the time. Try leaving the food for 10 minutes, if he doesn't eat take it away. Try this today. Or trying mixing in some wet food with his dry food (if that is what he is eating). If he still doesn't eat, I think you will need to take him to the vet. Perhaps they can set up a payment plan for you. Does Jezter have all his shots?

Get him to a vet. It is fairly normal for huskies to change their eating patterns. I have one who eats about every third day. However, any change in behavior, energy ect, needs vet attention. Sooner rather than later!

Is he drinking? Dehydration can set in fast and can be fatal. If he's not drinking, you need an immediate vet app't.

I was thinking Heartworm or other parasites could possibly cause this. Is he on Hearworm preventative? I would try to see a vet asap.... there are free clinics available through the SPCA or other shelters.

I would like to thank everyone who posted a response from the bottom of my heart. but i have extremely sad news. it was parvo, i had to have him put down. Jezter was put to sleep around 6pm sat, arizona time. i will miss him immensely, a very large piece of me is gone, a piece i will never get back. no one should have to go through what i did saturday. he was like my child. i will miss him forever. than you all very much.

I thought Parvo vaccine shots were one of the first things that

I had a kitten die of parvo shortly after adoption. It came on suddenly and before knowing what happened it had died. Don't feel this is your fault. Parvo is quickly acting and may have been hard to diagnose in an older dog as yours. Typically, puppies get it more than adult dogs.
Make sure you bleach out or disinfect the dog's bedding, toys, and surrroundings. Parvo is highly contagious and can stay around for weeks. So if you decide to adopt you may want to start over clean. Make sure if you adopt the dog has had proper shots next time. Some shots are available at the local county co-op for purchase cheaper than vets.
I hope you will be able to adopt again as there are plenty of dogs that need good homes. God bless!

thank you, i will probably go to a hybrid rescue center and try and find one like him if i can. and i wont be adopting another before i move out of this apt. thank you all for your help and words.

I thought Parvo vaccine shots were one of the first things that puppies were to receive. This is so preventable.

Yes it's one of the first shots, but protection is afforded only if a series of Parvo vaccinations are given. The problem is that the lingering maternal antibodies from the colostrum and milk can inactivate the attenuated virus in the vaccine, not allowing an immune response to occur in the puppy. This is highly dependent on age of the puppy. For example vaccinating puppies for Parvo at 4 weeks is next to worthless. If you combine that with a possible scenario where the follow up booster was of poor quality due to mishandling of the vaccine, it could occur that a puppy apparently immunized is not protected completely. Jezter apparently didn't have the classic signs of vomiting and bloody diarrhea (or no mention was made of it), so there might have been weak protection from prior vaccination.

I saw a similar scenario on Emergency Vets, a family brought in their "backyard" Border Collie, 1 year old, never had any vaccinations and she contracted Parvo and was put down. They said there is usually a 50/50 chance of survival, and it is preventable from puppy vaccinations. The family didn't want to pay the $500 for treatment. It is so so so sad, especially if it was preventable RIP Jezter

...I do not want to sound rude, but please do not adopt another dog until you are completely financially stable and can afford to vaccinate your dog annually, take them to the vet, and treat them for diseases that they may contract. For the dogs sake.
