I have to get this one done before Debbie (sirrahbed) has a fit!
By now you all know that Lucky was inside and Stubby was doing the inside/outside thing. She was about to get grounded to the inside forever. I clearly remember sitting in the porch swing with hubby one afternoon and we were watching this HUGE kitten play with a blowing leaf. I told hubby that he needed a name too since the other two now had one. Out of the blue he says "Peanut Butter"! Huh? Why? Hubby said "well he is the color of Peanut Butter!" He was looking at me like I was stupid but I have never seen orange peanut butter! Hubby is color blind so I'm not sure what he sees but I thought the name was cute and different so I agreed.
While we were sitting there I asked hubby what we were going to do about PB. I reminded him that we had taken in his brother and sister and now I wanted to know about this big beautiful orange boy. Hubby looked a bit surprised and said "Well, we're not going to do anything with him. He's big, strong and healthy and will be just fine outside. We will keep feeding him but I don't see any reason to do anything else".
I jumped up and assumed the pose, you know the one where you have hands on hips and squinty eyes? "I don't believe you!!!" I turned and started stomping back across the porch and muttering...."Geez, I'm glad my mom didn't throw away my brothers because they were healthy. Take away his siblings and just leave him on his own just because he's ok. I've never heard of being punished before for being healthy"....(door) SLAM!!!!
A short time later I find hubby sitting on the living room floor with the front door propped open. He is pulling the shoestring across the porch for PB. Stubby comes running to play and PB follows her into the house, hubby shuts the door, and that was that!![]()
Now Peanut butter's story isn't long or exciting. He was the easiest to tame and wanted nothing but love. He continued to grow and became our huge lovable teddy bear.
This is one of the first pictures I ever posted about Peanut Butter. He gives the best hugs ever!

He is the gentle giant of the family and is kind to all the newbies. He seems to take everything in stride and just wants hugs and belly rubs.

If I have to find any bad about PB it is the fact that he refuses to ever be medicated! The last time he was weighed he was 18lbs. Let me tell ya that when something that big, with paws the size of my hands, doesn't want to do something chances are you can't make him! I remember one time when we were treating everybody for earmites. I knew it was going to require both hubby and I. We had it all planned out. I was going to get PB in the bathroom, close the door and hubby was going to do the burrito wrap with a towel, and I would squirt the stuff in his ears. This was going to happen quickly so PB didn't have time to panic. Everything was ready to go.
I went and got PB, shut the bathroom door, and honestly I don't remember what happened after that. All I remember is that within seconds hubby and I were backed into a corner, bleeding, and PB was standing at the door! I told hubby "you go open that door and let him out" Hubby said "uh uh, you go do it!" Somebody finally opened the door and hubby and I took a peroxide bath!
Take a look at the size of those paws and you will understand just how much damage they can do!

So now if he needs medicine I request liquid and I just walk by him and squirt him so he has to lick it off!![]()
Here a few favorite pictures of my big handsome lug!
