    Child Support

I was wondering if anyone here knew how they go about determining how much someone pays for child support. I'll be taking Dylan, so I was wondering how they would determine how much Dan would pay me? Does anyone know how they calculate this?

In many states it is about 20% of income for the first child and 25% after that.

Every state is probably different, Cass. I do know that in SC there is a worksheet that you can use to help calculate the mandated amounts. Go to your state's webpage and get to the Dept. of Social Services section or whatever they call it in your state. You can probably find the formula there. In SC, it is based on income if the court is forced to set it. In my situation, we agreed on an amount, outside of the court system, which was less than the mandated amount, but something we could both live with.

Does Dylan live with you full-time? How mich time does Dan have him? All that stuff goes into account. My Aunt didn't get child support because her and her ex both have her 50/50... My pays though because the Mother has the kids all week except weekends... It all depends where you live as well.
