Meet Pac Man!

I wanted to introduce the newest memeber of my family, Pac Man! He's an African Dwarf Frog, I really want to get another one but they are hard to sex and I worry that I'll end up with little tadpoles!

This is his tank.

They are hard to sex until they are fully grown adults. Then females have a white gland under their arm pit that is quite easy to see.
But I still don't think I would worry about tadpoles as I think they are kinda difficult to breed. You need exact tank conditions.

Once upon a time I had 5 of them and 3 were females I'm pretty sure. I never ever had tadpoles.

I read that while I was researching but since my vision is so bad I can't see anything that small I didn't trust myself!

A few of the sites I looked at said they were easy to breed, but now I wonder if it ment that they were easy to breed under the right conditions!

I need to do more research about their breeding before I feel comfortable bringing in another one, but thank you so much for the advice. Now it actually looks like it will be possible for me to get him a froggy friend

He's adorable I have 3 african dwarf frogs, 2 are females and the other is a male. I've had them for quite a while now, over 2 years and they've enver bred. I'm sure you'll be safe getting another one

Thanks everyone! I think I will get Pac Man a friend, I bet it would be cute to watch them interact. I've been reading lots of web pages and it looks like unless I'm trying really hard then they aren't going to have babies. I'm still going to try to find one that looks just like pac man so that it will be likely they are the same sex.

what does it eat?? it is so cute. we have thoughs at my work. we call them dwarf aquatic frogs... humm.... ours havent been eating so i was curious as to what you feed your guy there .....

I'm feeding him frozen blood worms. At first i tried the freeze dried blood worm and he didn't seem to like them, then I bought the frozen kind and he loves them.
