    Does this sound familiar?

    Recently, I was diagnosed with A. A. A. D. D. - Age Activated Attention
    Deficit Disorder.

This is how it manifests: I decide to wash my car.

As I start toward the garage, I notice that there is mail on the hall table.

I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.
I lay my car keys down on the table, put the junk mail in the trash can
under the table, and notice that the trash can is full.
So, I decide to put the bills back on the table and take out
the trash first. But then I think, since I'm going to be near the
mailbox when I take out the trash anyway, I may as well pay the bills first.

I take my checkbook off the table, and see that there is only
one check left My extra checks are in my desk in the study, so I go to my
desk where I find the can of Coke that I had been drinking.

I'm going to look for my checks, but first I need to push the Coke aside
so that I don't accidentally knock it over.

I see that the Coke is getting warm, and I decide I should put
it in the refrigerator to keep it cold.
As I head toward the kitchen with the coke a vase of flowers on
the counter catches my eye--they need to be watered.

I set the Coke down on the counter, and I discover my reading
glasses that I've been searching for all morning.
I decide I better put them back on my desk, but first I'm going to water
    the flowers.
I set the glasses back down on the counter, fill a container with water
and suddenly I spot the TV remote.
Someone left it on the kitchen table.

I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV, I will be
looking for the remote, but I won't remember that it's on
the kitchen table, so I decide to put it back in the den where it
belongs, but first I'll water the flowers.

I splash some water on the flowers, but most of it spills on
the floor. So, I set the remote back down on the table, get some towels
    and wipe up the spill.

Then I head down the hall trying to remember what I was
    planning to do.

At the end of the day: the car isn't washed, the bills aren't
paid, there is a warm can of Coke sitting on the counter, the
flowers aren't watered, there is still only one check in my
checkbook, I can't find the remote, I can't find my glasses,
and I don't remember what I did with the car keys.
Then when I try to figure out why nothing got done today, I'm
really baffled because I know I was busy all day long, and I'm really
tired. I realize this is a serious problem, and I'll try to get some
help for it, but first I'll check my e-mail.

Do me a favor, will you? Forward this message to everyone you
know, because I don't remember to whom it has been sent.

Don't laugh -- if this isn't you yet, your day is coming!

Woohoo, thank you so much Randi for the good laugh!! No no, I wasn't laughing with you, I was laughing because the situation you describe sounds like a day of mine.... !!
Sometimes, when Bernard comes home, he asks "and what have you been doing today??". Usually I put up a silly face, as ALL I can remember is that I am tired .... . "Well, you have an easy life, my day was soooo hectic!!""
Yes sure, as if my days aren't hectic

Randi, I think this must be typical for us "aging" women: meaning, woman elder than 45! Or do our younger members here suffer from this too???

If I already have Attention Deficit does that mean I have a head start on A. A. A. D. D. ... or just good practice?!

That was great thanks for the laugh!

I'm starting to get that myself! Sucks to get old. It's funny how you can get sidetracked halfway through the house.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

I got a good head start on this cuz I've been doing that since I was 20.

Sometimes I just stop halfway thru the house and wonder where I was going.

I'm about to turn 43 and I've had it for years! So yes, Lut, I don't think age is the only contributing factor.

LOL! But that's not too bad. If a man is sent to the supermarket, he comes back with exactly the things on the list, nothing else! He just can't get out fast enough! - It's a different story, if he's in a gadget shop!!

I've had AAADD for decades. Wait a minute...where am I now? Who am I talking to???
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Three sisters ages 92, 94 and 96 live in a house together. One night the 96 year old draws a bath. She puts her foot in and pauses. She yells to the other sisters, "Was I getting in or out of the bath?" The 94 year old yells back, "I don't know I'll come up and see." She starts up the stairs and pauses "Was I going up the stairs or down?" The 92 year old is sitting at the kitchen table having tea listening to her sisters. She shakes her head and says, "I sure hope I never get that forgetful, knock on wood." She then yells, "I'll come up and help both of you as soon as I see who's at the door."

    Speaking of driving ...

Two elderly women were out driving in a large car - both could barely see over the dashboard. As they were cruising along, they came to an intersection. The stoplight was red, but they just went on through. The woman in the passenger seat thought to herself, "I must be losing it. I could have sworn we just went through a red light." After a few more minutes, they came to another intersection and the light was red again. Again, they went right through. The woman in the passenger seat was almost sure that the light had been red but was really concerned that she was losing it. She was getting nervous. At the next intersection, sure enough, the light was red and they went through. So, she turned to the other woman and said, "Mildred, did you know that we just ran through 3 red lights in a row? You could have killed us both!"
Mildred turned to her and said, " Oh, Crap! Am I Driving?"
