    A week of sad anniversaries.

38 Years ago NASA lost three astronauts on a pad fire.
Chaffee Grissom and White died in Apollo 1.

Tomorrow is the Challenger anniversary and Feb 1 is the Columbia anniversary.

Take a minute to remember some of the last great explorers.

I was in 3rd grade when we lost the Challenger. It's still a vivid memory. Despite the tragedy, I still wanted to be an astronaut.

In 7th grade I went to Space Academy.

On Feb. 1st, Andy and I came home after running errands to find his roommates watching the news..

    Thanks for reminding us, Richard!
These are indeed heroes, we must remember what these people did for us! I still see the Challenger explode on my tv-screen: it was the first time that a woman joined the crew (wasn't it a "Krista"??), and when few years ago the Columbia didn't make in re-entering the atmosphere, I was heartbroken

    RIP to these heroes!!

Christa Mcauliffe was the First Teacher in Space.

She was chosen to represent teachers and was scheduled to give some lessons and try some experiments that would be sent, via television, to schools all across the nation.

Nasa was trying to get more kids to become interested in the space program at that time.
