How many syllables are in your dogs name?

Just wondering how many syllables your dogs name has?
Also do you call them by that name most of the time or use a nickname?
If you do call them by that name how well do they listen to it (especially if it is 3 or more ayllables)

They say 2 syllable names are usually the best, but I have found a couple single syllable & 3 syllable names that I like a lot.

Lolly is 2 syllables, but Reece is one. I usually call him Reecie though which is 2. Most of their nicknames have 2-4 syllables and they respond just as well to each of them.

We always pick names that are one syllable so it's easy to say.

    Duke-1

    Max-1

    Je-nn-y(2) Gin-g-er(3) Roc-ky(2) Bus-t-er(3)
    Those are all 2 syllables

    Samantha - 3 syllables

Her most used nicknames are: Sam - 1, Sam Sam - 2, Mantha - 2, Baby Girl - 3, Nerd - 1. She responds to all of them well, but responds very well and "Mantha" - if you say that one, she will stop whatever she's doing, look at you and cock her head to the side, trying to understand you.

Peej's real name is PJ which has two letters, therefore 2 syllables. We rarely call him PJ anymore though. He answers to both.

Bailey's name has 2 syllables and she doesn't have any nicknames unless she rolls on something dead. In which case I can't write her nickname here since this is a family site.

I've always had dogs with 2-syllable names and call them by their names, but I must agree that 1-syllable names/nicknames are probably easier or better when calling a dog or give command.

    thanks k9krazee for the signature!

Mine are all 2 syallable names, two with "y" at the end, one "a" and one "o". The "o" doesn't listen, but it doesn't have anything to do with his name

All 4 of mine have nicknames too, each of them listens to at least one of their nicknames--for example, Abbey listens when we call her "Crabby", but it does rhyme.
