Pictures of newest rescues .... partly feral Mom and son.

Well, I was able to pet the momma cat's head for a few brief moments this after ... but then tonight I tried to stick my finger through the bars to stratch her chin / nose and she lashed out at me again! Slow and steady I suppose!

Here is a picture of her last night .... hiding in her litter pan:

A few more taken today ... she is finally enjoying her very warm and comfy bed!

She still hasn't eaten anything, but at least she has had some water!

This one was taken during the time of day when she allowed me to pet her head today ... she was having a calm moment!

Isn't she pretty? I just want to love her so badly!

Her precious little boy is coming around nicely though ... a little nervous, not purring yet ... but will lie on the bed near us and we can pet him fairly easily! He's a real cutie, and I need NAMES for both of them!

What a gorgeous pair of kitties, and lucky to be rescued. The little guy reminds me of my RB boy "Cecil" who was such a character.

It sure is obvious they are mom and son, huh? Their faces are so much alike, right down to the darling spot on the right of their nosies! I am just concerned that he might have fathered mom's litter? He certainly is mature enough! What do you think?

aaww! How sweet! How many rescues do you usually have at a time? Do you let them all run around in the house? I would love nothing more than to foster some kitties, but my bf said no...can't hardly handle 2. What a wimp!

Kim they're both beautiful. You might try covering her carrier with a towel where she can't see you and she may eat this way. They feel safe when they're covered. It's worth a try.

OK, Lisa ... I will try that ... because if she is indeed pregnant, she NEEDS to be eating!!!

Make sure any area where she could see you is covered. If a towel is too small you could use a sheet, etc. Let me know if it works. You might try leaving her covered over night.

I can't get over how much mother & son look alike in the face.

They are both adorable. Good luck with them Kim and bless you for taking them in.

Kim they are really pretty kitties! That little guy looks like Leroy with half of his mustache! What a cutie!
Is he eating ok? The one weird thing I found with my ferals was the only way I could get them to eat once they came inside was to mix stinky wet food in with the dry. They had the same problem at the shelter. I don't know but maybe its from eating softer people food scraps and live prey. It seemed the wilder the cat the less chance they would eat the dry food. If she doesn't eat soon you may want to try that to get her going.
I will be praying that she settles in soon. It is good news that you got to pet her a little today. She sounds like she is going to be a little on the moody side.
    Good luck!

She really is a beauty, and he is a cutie, too. I can't get over the matching orange spots. Hopefully mom will come around soon.
