We caught her three times... I can't and don't expect my parents to move the litter box when we come over because her cats are used to it being there...

Any idea what it does to their tummy? She has been kinda moping.. It's the clumping kind.

Oh if it is the clumping kind she can become impacted. She may have a blockage. It can occur with the non clumping too but not nearly as often as the clumping kind.

Keep a very very close eye on her eating & pooping and her overall personality. If she continues to act lethargic, has trouble with bowel movements, starts to vomit etc... get her looked at ASAP.
I don't want to scare you but this is something that can be deadly without operation.

In the future is it possible to gate off the litter boxes?

I personally never ever use the clumping kind for many many reason, this is one of them and the most important reason why.

I agree with lv4dogs, get her checked if she still isn't feeling well. My dogs will sometimes eat cat poop and then later vomit. There's nothing more disgusting than kitty poop vomit.

Is she eating just the litter or is she eating the poop?

Maybe your parents can get new litter boxes with lids and flaps so the dog can't stick her head in. If the cat doesn't like the flaps, turn the litter boxes to face a wall just enough so the cat can slink between the space, but the dog can't. I've also seen this new kind of litter box with a top entry. It looks like a rubber maid container with a hole on the top of the lid so the cat can jump down into it.

Dixie is my kitty poop eater. She doesn't eat the kitty litter outright but does get what's stuck on the poop. She has been doing this since she was a pup. l have the kitty box in a secluded place but every now and then she manages to get to it. It has never caused her a problem other than kitty litter breath. I use the clumping kind but she never gets enough to cause a blockage.

I do agree though... if she is acting lethargic or not her usual self, then she needs to be seen by the vet.

Well, my vet has the most unsympathetic receptionist I have ever seen, and I intend to say so today...

I have been waiting since 10AM for a call back on what to do, so I'm just going down there...

She did vomit up some VERY thick white foam, not her usual bile..

My parent's cats poo in the far back corner, she can't get her head in that far.. she was just sticking it in and eating.. I'm wondering if the fact that my parents have 'fresh scent' has anything to do with it.. if it's attracting her to it..
