Dawn has a palace now! (pics!)

Well I did it! I mentioned to Poppy a few days ago that I had been shopping for a new cage for Dawn. I felt her old one was too cramped for her and it wasn't the best quality and had some rusting on the floor. The new one came with a stand with wheels and the bars have a textured finish. It is rust-resistant as well, and came with stainless steel dishes. Anyway, here are the pics of her new home!

Food dish, water dish on the other side is identical.

This shows the texturing on the bars

    I like my new home!

I love Dawn's new PALACE! It looks like she is enjoying it as well. I love that last picture of her - what a cutie!

I really like that Mele's cage has a stand with wheels and a little shelf, like Dawn's new cage. It makes it very easy to move when I want to sweep under it and the shelf is convenient for storing birdie stuff. I think you will really enjoy this feature of your new cage.

What did you do with her old cage? If you don't have plans for it, maybe you could donate it to your local shelter.

Many thanks to Roxyluvsme13 & k9krazee for my great new siggy!!

That is a WONDERFUL idea, I know that I love when people donate cages to me, even if they are rusted or very used. I bet your local SPCA, Bird Rescue or some other rescue would LOVE to have the old cage.

Thanks for the compliments! Kater that is a very good idea. I will clean it up and give the humane society a call. Way back when David was still finishing up college, he worked at the pet store and he used to get the clearance things for practically nothing and we would give them to people we knew with pets or donate them to the humane society. The humane society was always very eager and very grateful. I hadn't really thought on it but thanks for reminding me about the humane society.

Thanks! I got it at PetCo for $140, which after shopping around I felt was a very good price for a stand, cage, nice dishes, very nice perch, and the size and quality of it. It's so much roomier than her old one, and I'm so happy to see her climbing around and enjoying it. Also like Kater mentioned I like that the stand has wheels with the little shelf on the bottom. I'm thrilled with it and Dawn seems to have really taken to it right away!
