Be careful with the peer-to-peer stuff. I understand they are loaded with spyware. YOu might want to run a spyware cleanup program, or even do a "repair install." Good luck!

    I use Bearshare, LOVE IT!

Make sure you download the FREE version though, it does come with an advertisement program called "Save" which includes "Weathercast" but you can uninstall it and still use Bearshare.

I use Bearshare as well. It's great!

I rarely download music though, only sometimes.. and then I normally go out and buy the whole CD cause i'm too lazy to download the whole thing.

I don't use anything, because everything I've tried has messed up my computer. I had Kazaa on my old one.. and I had to get a new computer because we couldn't get rid of everything it brought it! But I'm not worried, I have all the songs I need on my computer.

We used Kazaa...then Kazaa Lite, which supposedly didn't have spyware(who knows?) But a few months ago Kazaa Lite quit working...right now I have Ares Lite, works like a charm, but I recently heard it has spyware....I think I'm going to try one called Wares (or Warez...can't remember). My brother said its spyware-free..

The first time I tried Limewire, it completely crashed my computer. It sucked, totally. Ever since then, I don't think it's worth download music, and just buy it. I go to Walmart.com and get singles for $.88 each; half.com for cheap used CD's; or Walmart here in town. No spyware, no crashed computers, I'm happy.

Yeah same. I use Win MX now and I haven't had problems with it, although it takes longer to download songs with.
