    First night out! (MAJOR pictures)

Yep, Home for just 48 hours and I took a chance and let Cracker Jack out tonight, just to explore a bit and to see what happened with Peanut. The pictures don't even begin to tell the story. Got some GREAT video, but I did the pictures first, so here goes. Hopefully in some semblance of order...

    Hmmm....what's this?

Heat came on and he jumped.

Hmmm...more food and water? This place is loaded!

    What's out there?

What's going on up here? I hear the pitter patter of somebody's feet!

I'm not so sure about all of this.....

He better not come up here! (hissing and growling away)

    He's over here!

    more coming....

    Grinning ear to ear!

Way to go CJ, show her you're not afraid of her right away! Sniff out those forbidden spots and go to find the next forbidden spot. You'll be grooming her between the before the weekend is over!

Awwww!! Peanut looks so put upon by this cute "intruder".

Glad he's out exploring his new home. He's such a doll.

That's all for now folks. After the eye to eye contact I picked Jack up and took him back to the bedroom and Peanut slinked off to the basement. He was out and about for a little over an hour, and I figured that was enough excitement for both of them for one night.....or so I thought.

So here I'm sitting on the computer posting these pics and Peanut comes back upstairs, just like usual and lays down in her favorite spot under the heat lamp. She's purring away as usual so I know the whole thing hasn't been too upsetting for her.

Then I hear CJ crying at the bedroom door wanting out again. And me....being the softie that I am....well....he's wandering around downstairs now and I don't even think Peanut knows he's out. This is the way I wanted it in the first place so he could explore without her hiss/growl/spit input.

Overall it went extremely well. She was doing the hiss/spit/growl routine, but really didn't seem overly upset, didn't run and hide an didn't attack him. He, on the other hand, could have cared less that she was even in the room! I have great video (I know I keep saying that) of her sitting in her box hissing and growling at him, and he picks up one of the toys from Catmandu and starts playing with it, within 2 feet of her! He really could have cared less that she was hissing at him! The only time he hissed was when I picked him up to put him back in the bedroom. He didn't want to go, poor boy.

Now he's sloooowwwly making his way up the stairs, while she is still sitting under the heat lamp, purring away.

Gee, nothing like a play by play. I was just skritching her chin and he meowed and she jumped. She really didn't know he was there! But no hisses, and she went right back to rubbing her chin into my hand....and he decided for some reason to head back downstairs.

I really do need to get to bed. I haven't been feeling that well myself tonight, but I want to let him explore a bit, and I want to spend a little time with Peanut. So I'm going to sign off for now, and I promise there will be videos tomorrow. Sorry, I know how awful it is to wait....

Well, how cool was that??!!! It's amazing how Cracker Jack is so laid back! He doesn't seem fazed a bit by Miss Peanut's displeasure with his presence. Methinks it bodes well for their future together.

Hope you feel better tomorrow. How could we possibly complain about no video when you gave us such a wonderful presentation with numerous pictures and narrative!

Your two kitties sure seem off to a positive start, despite the hissing/growling/spitting display. Surely that will wear off in time.

Thanks for everything! PS - I'm coveting your snow.

    OH ...

Things sound like they are going pretty smooth....
Peanut is such a good girl... As soon as Cracker Jack gets covered in your house's smell... Peanut will probable stop hissing all together..

I can't wait to see the videos!!!

Wow! This is so exciting! Reminds me of my first introductions awhile ago with Josie & Brodie. I'm sure that sweet little Peanut will give in to CJ's charms SOON!!!

It was funny how you described how CJ was so UN-impressed by Peanut . . . wandering around as if she wasn't in the room . . . that is EXACTLY how Brodie acted with Josie. They just go on about their business . . . if the girls don't wanna play nice, why play at all? LOL

Good luck with the intros during the next few days! I can't wait to see some more pics . . . hopefully we'll see some cuddling pics SOON!!!
