    Sirrah's married for 30 years!!

    Hubby and I will celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary on the 30th of December!! Today is actually his 54th birthday and we will go out to eat with Bryan, Chris (chrangharris), Misha and Carol(persianmom) in just awhile. Hubby has planned a getway for us!! But, before we leave, I wanted to post some pictures that he has taken - of us "back then". We met in the summer of 1970 when I was 15 and he was 19. He was in the AF and of course I lived with my parents. We were married in 1974, right before I graduated from college.
    Here we are in the summer we met, 1970..I turned 16 in September.

    1971...matching shirts were the thing! He was about to leave for Vietnam and was gone all of 1972...I graduated HS, went off to college and turned 18 while he was gone.

    1973...

    about to be married...1974. I was 20 years old, and graduated college May of 1975.

    recent....2002...I would be 47 or 48 here

    2003...age 48 or 49

    October 2004..just turned 50!!

    OMG!! It must be wonderful to have someone that you love and loves you for THIRTY YEARS!!!... And you still look happy! WOW!! I was never lucky in love or had a marriage that lasted longer than 13 years... Never found that "Lifetime Partner/love". But I LOVE seeing those who have. The only man who has put up with me for that many years has been my sisters husband and they are as much in love today as they were the day they got married. For their annivesary, I always thank him for putting up with me for that long. My "ex Mr. Sibley" and I are still close friends but we make better friends than we did husband and wife.... we have been divorced for over 20 years.

    CONGRATULATIONS To the BOTH of you for 30 blissful years and may you have 30 more!!

    Congratulations to the Sirrahs! Thank you for sharing the pictures, and your special anniversary with us. What is the 30th anniversary - I known 40 is Ruby, 50 is Silver ... anyone know?

    (For my parents' 40th wedding anniversary party, I wrote in the card - "Sorry Dad, ruby slippers in size 12 are just too expensive! ) I am glad know that I pushed to have a party then, even though some people said "Why not wait til their 50th for a party?" as Ma got ALS and died before they reached their 45th, never mind 50th.

    Karen made me curious, so I looked it up in my trusty Hallmark book.

    It says that the 30th is Pearl for traditional..........but Diamond for Modern.

    Diamond is also the 60th............so Dennis, you could wait another 30 years..................
