I took Cassy in for his annual shots this week and the vet asked about some of his unusual previous visits. [Apparently I'm getting a reputation there for bringing the kids in for weird reasons?] I mentioned his nipples seemed to be harder than usual lately, asked if it were a problem --- especially since he'd had a previous problem extruding milk/milk-like substance. [Okay, my cats are as weird as I am... HE had a milky nipple problem a while back. For those interested, I posted after that vet visit, too.] She whipped him onto his back and we [me, vet, and vet's assistant] inspected his tum. What I thought were his 'harder' nipples were a wax buildup/touch of dust that had settled on his tum. Apparently his nipples are innies (who knew this was possible?) and the surrounding skin/fur traps dust/wax buildup and he needs help cleaning his tum.
At least she said he and his mammory (sp?) glands were fine and that there's nothing serious, although she'd note it in his chart for further checking in the future.
And another positive: Cassy likes tummy rubs, so Meowmy cleaning sessions should go easy in the future. I'm just a little freaked about his nipples being innies. It seems bizarre to me... Anyone else heard of this?
