Working on my friend's website and I'm very confused. What is the difference between a server and a web hoster? Will I need BOTH a month? One or the other? ACK!

I think your server is your web hoster.

I guess, basically, a server is what you need if you want to host other people too... For your friend, I think you just need a webhost...
