    Introducing Snowball and Rocky

    Hello,

This is my second post to the Pet Talk Boards - my first was regarding Debbie's beautiful cat named Dylan.

Sorry, I'm not very good at writing these types things but here goes.

I live in Ontario, Canada in the area that is popularly known as the Golden Horseshow. I have two cats named Snowball and Rocky that I received from my neighbour, across the hall in April 2002 when another tenant complained about the number of cats she had (she had 5 cats and all were fixed). My municipality has a by-law regulating the number of pets that you may have. In her case she could only have two cats, or two dogs, or a combination of both, but not more than two. So, she gave two of her cats to my my mom and I to have. She was allowed to keep the other three cats.

Snowball had been coming to our apartment when ever my neighbour's apartment door was opened since 1996. He would often stay for many hours and considered this his second home. Rocky, the tuxedo cat was found by my neighbour in 1999 and had been coming over to our apartment since the first day.

My-self... I'm in IT systems though I haven't been able to work for a number of years due to severe depression, panic attacks and anxiety. I'm on medication and doing much better and trying to rebuild my life.

Without further adieu, I present my two cats Snowball and Rocky...

Sometimes Rocky has a very sinister look, But I can assure you he is a very friendly and affectionate cat.

    Re: Introducing Snowball and Rocky

Hi Brian, I am reproducing your post so that the images show. They just needed img tags instead of url tags. I think maybe you clicked the http button instead of img? See above the posting area- the easy buttons (IMG and http) are there already for inserting hyperlinks or images so we do not have to manually use any tags. (in case you did it manually) Some of the pix are big so you might want to resize before you upload to imagestation - I usually use PSP and resize to 500 pixels wide and keep dimensionsand that seems to be a good forum size

Your kitties are just gorgeous!! Just post away all you want - we are not formal at all if you haven't noticed

Thank you for the welcome and the kind words regarding my two cats. I won't be able to post pictures very often as I do not have a digital camera at the present time.

Debbie, thank you for the uploading and posting tips. I also have to ask you something. How much does Dylan weigh? He looks generously proportioned and about the same size as Snowball who weighs 18.5 pounds.

Rocky is normally affectionate on his terms, but at night he is my mom's cat. He lays with her until she falls asleep and then he goes out to the living room, to the couch to sleep. If she gets up during the night he again stays with her until she falls asleep and then sleeps on the couch.

Snowball is my velcro-kitty. He sleeps with me at night, but sometimes he keeps me awake by headbutting, using his paw to touch my arm or meowing. I told my neighbour's 22 year-old daughter who called my mom and I last week, why I now know why her and her sister were always late for the school bus and I had to drive them. Snowball kept them awake at night.

Welcome to Pet Talk Brian. Your kitties are beautiful and Snowball sounds like quite a character. Does he still have that cute grey streak on his head? Regardless, they're both cute!

    Welcome to Pet Talk, Brian!

Your two cats are adorable. Snowball is such a beautiful and sweet looking kitty. Rocky looks like quite the character. His pictures remind me of a tuxedo version of my maine coon mix, Noah.

I'm Kelly and my hubby and I live with all nine cats you see in my signature.
    ...RIP, our sweet Gini...

Snowball does not have the dark marking on top of his head like he did when he was young. Except for one or two dark hairs on his head he is all white now. When he was younger and slimmer, he used to go under the radiator in the hallway and would come out with a big black dirt streak down his back. Something like the markings of a skunk, only in reverse. It was quite funny to see, though he didn't think so, because my neighbors daughter would promptly give him a bath!

I have no idea what kind of breed Rocky is, I think that he has a lot of Norwegian Forest in him though. He has very long fur between the toes of his paws (turkey feathers) which is common to Norwegian Forest cats. I keep asking him what breed he is but he doesn't answer! LOL.

Brian, Rocky and Snowball --- Welcome to PT!!!! Brian, your cats are beautiful! I enjoyed reading about how they came to live with you. That was so nice for the kitties that they already knew you and your home well. I'm sure it helped with the transtion when they moved in with you permanently. Hope you enjoy PT as much as most of us do. It is lots of fun seeing all the super cats and meeting their people.

    Take care - Bobbi

That is a curious trait. Can anyone fill me in on why a white kitten has a black spot on the head and later it disappears?

I know that it is common, and when I saw Snowball's baby pic, I told my husband that it would be gone in the next pic.
(now my husband thinks I have super powers)

Very beautiful cats you have there. I can't believe he weighs 18.5 lbs a good 4lbs more than my heaviest, bowling ball of a cat, Snowy.
