Thanks! I did some searches on the internet after posting this thread and I am surprised at how much stuff is out there...she basically needs some terms to describe scrooge...I suggested selfish, miserly....

Project Gutenburg has the book online:

    http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/46

And you can either read or listen! Now no "book too heavy" excuse!

I loved the book read it many times, if you need any specific question answered ...

I hope she reads and enjoys it, too!

What a great site, Karen! (I'm excited to look around at what other books they have, too!!!) But I'm a little confused -- how do you listen to it?? I didn't see a link.

Thanks everyone! Actually she just needed a few words about scrooge but she gets herself all worked up in a panic...she really cannot take her literature book home...I was informed of this on back to school night...but the teachers try to give them good notes and there is a supplement.

Scrooge was an unhappy miser who took joy only in monetary things. He was unappreciative of he assistant Bob Hatchet. He was miserable in his life, and therefore wanted to make everyone else miserable as well.
