    Winter wonderland--pics!

We had a major snowfall last night, about 18 inches! We spent all day shoveling out. My husband's little car still isn't going to get past the driveway!

The view from our driveway this morning

My poor truck, all buried in snow!

    The trees look gorgeous though.

My favorite tree in the whole yard. I made hubby build his shed somewhere else so this tree could stay standing.

    My snowy house!

I can't wait to get the dog sled out!!

LOL! Now THAT is snow!!! It looks so beautiful but I'm glad I dont have to shovel it this winter. Many people here ask me what snow is like as they have never seen it!

For me its useless to wait for snow!

I can only open the freezer for a similar effect or is it different? Never seen snow but i think i'll die of cold if i did.

Its beautiful as long as you keep it there dear. Snow flies and then I can't be outside as much as I like.

That is so pretty! Just as long as it stays there! I'm not quite ready for our first snow yet!

My gosh, I've never been up to YT but just dying to. That favourite tree pic belongs on a postcard.

Question: when it's that cold and snowy, where do the dogs sleep at night? Do you have a special shed for them?
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Depends on the dog. They each have their own insulated dog house that is filled with straw. There's enough of those around the yard that they could all sleep outside regardless of the weather. As long as it's not too windy, they prefer to sleep out in the snow. They don't use their doghouses much. When it was snowing on Saturday, they were very active--running and wooing alot! Snowstorms are fun for huskies!

However, I usually have several of them inside....Goldie sleeps in the arctic entry (enclosed winterized porch) with her boyfriend, Chase; Sleet & Preacher haven't spent a night outside in years. Sleet sleeps beside my bed on her princess pillow, Preacher has a bed in the coat closet. (he put it there on his own). Pingo, Chum, Pacer and Franklin are usually inside too--Pacer sleeps in the porch near Preacher, Pingo sleeps on the couch, Chum sleeps by the bed, and Franklin prefers to sneak onto the bed during the night! Hobo likes to sleep near the woodstove. Most nights there are between 8-10 dogs inside. I've had 17 in at once when it was -45C.
