I'm just busy with the translation of www.catmom.de , and now I need some help.
You know these little thingies you can buy to make tilted bottom hung windows safe for cats? I just cannot find the correct word for it!!
Can somebody help me, please?

Bottom hung windows
This is one of the biggest dangers for indoor cats! They may try to crawl through the gap and get stuck. Inner injuries, paralysis and death may be the result. For that reason, a cat should never be left alone in a room with those windows tilted!
In pet stores, you can buy _fill in requested word here _ that you can put into the gap, they prevent that the cat gets stuck.

The last bit might sound easier if it read: They prevent the cat from getting stuck.(or caught)(or injured)
The word stuck is not a very technical term, but is widely understood.
The rest sounds very good to me.

I go with "window guard". Doesnt these windows have screens?
I would think that would eliminate the need for a "quard".
If you open this type of window every living creature big and small bug wise is in your house if there's not a screen.
