I'm keeping her!

For those of you who didn't see the thread I started about 10 days ago, this dog, Ginger, came into my care when her the mother of the person who had her told her she had to give her up because she wasn't taking care of her. (The daughter is a grown up with 4 children). She got the dog last fall, kept it in the house in a crate most of the winter, then in the spring chained her outside. Her mother bought the dog a dog house otherwise she would have been out in the elements. Ginger had no shots, had not been spayed, and was given very little attention. Pluse she was planning to leave her out for the winter. The daughter was going to take her to the dog pound but the mother is the cousin of a friend of mine and Ginger ended up here for me to rehome. She is listed on a website for a local rescue group but they never called to get the vet work done and she is just too sweet and as Delidog, Captain, Phred, and others predicted she found her new forever home right here.
I have renamed her Pippi -she is about a year old, and had not been socialized with people or other dogs. She has done very well with other dogs. People are another thing. She is scared to death of everyone that comes near her. She was scared of me when I picked her up but once I got her home, she beccame my baby and when she isn't wrestling with one of other dogs she wants to be in my arms.
I had her spayed yesterday and had the back dewclaws that had never been taken off removed too. She also had her shots and was checked for heart worm (negative thanks goodness).
I know many of you will think I am nuts taking in another dog and I think I must be too. But she is only 14 lbs. and just loves being held and petted. I LOVE having a little dog. Oreo will not let you hold her or pick her up - you pet her when she wants petted and the way she wants petted. So it is great to have a little lover. (compared to Snoopy my 55 lb. lover lap dog!)
So here are more pictures of my baby
