    My MIL's calico

Well, my MIL's darling calico has had a bad fight. She is a tiny 5 lb, 12 yr old calico named Violet.

Yes, I know my MIL should keep her as indoor only, and I am a complete advocate of indoor only, but if one good thing has come from poor little Violet's troubles, it is that she WILL be kept inside from now on. And maybe I can convince my MIL to keep her future cats out of danger.

Violet's eye was ruptured. She had an operation, and they were able to save the eye and also the vision!
I thought a rupture meant a removal, for sure. So, after being pretty depressed this afternoon, I actually got the good news, from MIL, that she will recover from this.

I am putting a picture of Violet, and MIL assures me it's not as bad as it looks.
Bear with me as I try to get it to post, it is my first time to put pix not as attachments. But, if it's a 'no go' I will attach it.

    Please folks,
    keep your babies inside.

    Well,

It sort of posted as an attachment would.

Anybody, can you explain how to get the actual picture to appear on the post, like you all do?

Oh my gosh!!! Poor kitty! I'm glad that her eye will be ok though! How very sad, and what a hard way to learn a lesson!

Oh my gosh, that picture brought tears to my eyes. Poor, poor sweet little girl.
I hope and pray that she isn't in too much pain and that she has a full and speedy recovery.

Poor poor kitty. I'm so glad she wasn't hurt more seriously and that the eye can be saved. I hate it when lessons like this are learned the hard way, especially when it's the kitty that suffers.

PLEASE, keep your kitties inside! They don't deserve to be in fights.

    Healing process

Violet's eye is healing well. For those of you that like to see the healing process.

She can open her eye, half way now.

Most likely, they will let her out of her cone (E collar) on Thursday.
