HONEST, Birdie says..I did have a bath two nights ago :-(

But I look so very pitiful tonight. What ever creature bit that little boy several weeks ago, it really wreaked havoc on him. His left ear has been at a tilt since, and I'm not sure if his ear has been affected or not. Warning..big time pity party needed.

Even in a bonnet, I'm miserable looking...but never stop purring

I'm still purring....and eating very well...

I was very scared to meet "THE DOG"!

Keep saying prayers that I'll be all better and able to really clean myself up soon.

P.S. Birdie has cleaned himself in the only way he really can..plucking the little clumps of fur out....being nude makes him feel a bit cleaner sad to say. The bathing has to be done every day in order to keep him clean, and it's so terribly stressful for the little guy. The clothing made him very upset...but I'll be trying one of hubby's stretched out socks tomorrow.

Laura, His gums are quite pink now, but this fur plucking is disturbing to say the least. I've dealt with ringworm years past, and know it's not that, but he is getting more naked as the days pass. He seems to be over grooming himself. Being that his tongue doesn't work correctly he's taking it to an extreme, and plucking his own fur out. I think things may change if he's tested, and neg/neg, and allowed into the house a bit more. He's so limited right now with the quarantine and all. But he never stops purring. Sweet little guy.

    awww.

Poor lil birdie, he is so sweet. He does look pitiful, I always just wanna reach through the monitor and cuddle him Please give him some snuggles from me. And you are doing such a consistent and great job with him. I admire you for it. Good luck lil guy, get big and strong, and feel better really soon. Are you planning on keeping him? or finding a good home for him?

    Thank you so much Michelle!

Oh Birdie, i'm sitting here crying for you, poor sweet kitty. You look so darn pitiful in those pictures that it is breaking my heart.

Please, please Birdie, you have been through so much, more than any kitty should have, you just have to get strong and get better sweetie. Most of all, get that tongue working again.

I was also thinking what Freckles had mentioned about a little cone. Do you think this would help him Jan or add more stress to him?

Poor, poor baby. Give him a little kiss for me please.

either a collar or soak him down with a warm rag every feeding time in the bathroom so you can undo what he does! In other words, he wants badly to be clean, if you wet him before he pulls fur, he'll "lick" first, you can get him clean and by then he hopefully won't want to pull catfood coated fur out! But it is a bad habit that should be stopped before he is pulling for no reason but for boredom...ya know?

Poor Birdie! Are you still hand feeding him.

I was thinking maybe you could get some t-shirting or other stretchy material and cut a square with a slit in the middle for his head, so he could wear it when you feed him - sort of like a poncho (I know I'm not explaining myself very well).

Is there any news on his tongue yet? Any indication of whether the damage is permanent?

Poor baby. My heart just breaks for him

Thanks Kay for my great sig & avatar!!!

Awww... Birdie, we love you! I'm praying for you and that your tongue starts working soon. I hope you test neg/neg soon... so that meowmie can rbing youinto the house and be with the other kitties.

Maybe if one of the other cats takles to helping him groom he might not pluck himself?

Birdie you are a heart breaker for sure! My eyes fill up with tears everytime I see you. You are trying so hard and we know you hate to be dirty but you can't keep pulling out your hair little one. You are going to be naked very soon!!
I just keep thinking of how little Emily Rose looked at one time and how great she looks now. I'm praying with all my heart that this how it will go for Birdie. One day he will be all well and we will look back on these pictures with amazement.

Hang in there Jan because this has to be so time consuming and heartbreaking for you to see everyday. We love you little Birdie and the prayers are still going out for you.

My goodness, he looks pitiful. All we can do is hope he gets better, because he's already in the best hands he could be in. Get better, little Birdie!!
