    Hairballs???

My cat had diareha for over two months. It was starting to clear up since the vet put him on drugs. He puked and pooped out a hairball and now his poop is solid. Is it possible for a cat to have a hairball in its system for two months?

I've heard of cats having hairballs in their system so long that they become impacted and require surgery.

    Glad your kitty's better!

Yup, it happens. Glad your kitty is doing better now! If you have a long-haired cat, hairballs are more common, but any cat can have them.

One thing that helped my long-haired kitty was the drained water from a can of tuna. I don't ordinarily give him people food, and even though the tuna was the water-packed kind (not oil-packed), it seems to help. The vet said the water contains some of the natural fish oils which help keep things moving in my cat's system. He loves it, and it is like giving him a treat that keeps him healthy.
