A wild moose and a horse

A simple story of a wild moose befriending a horse.

I know the young moose was destructive to their property, but what a sweet story!!! Thanks, Paul.

"... The host family is very careful not to feed Mary,
requiring her to live off the land instead of their handouts.

Mary lives off their land, however.
She has chewed all of the existing day lily flowers,
    apple boughs,
    cherry trees,
    grape vines and
has this week finished off all the
Virginia Creeper on the farm. ..."

I think Little Bit and Mary would like people to stop honking their horns.

    What a dear story!

But why would you honk your car horns at these animals?

People! Sometimes I wonder (well, not sometimes, most of the time!)

Gini, would that be a deer story?

I always wonder about people honing horns around horses too. Sure way to cause trouble: come up beside a skiddish horse being ridden and honk the silly car horn!!!!!

Paul thanks for the sweet story!!!!!
No matter what anyone does, someone some where will be offended some how!!!!

Only in Vermont could you find a story such as this.
If you notice in the story that it is the tourists who are honking their horns, probably because most of them have never seen a real live moose before.
Some of them may have never seen a real live horse before either!
I love trail riding on horses but hate when cars honk at you.
I prefer to stay on the back roads and dirt roads where only the locals go and they slow down and wave when they drive by.

It seems like there are some lonely moose running around Vermont.
I remember the days of Jessica and Bullwinkle, too bad it didn't last.
    RIP sweet Samantha
