    Signature Intaker's *A rant*

This is for all of you sig maker's you know what it's like to put hour's upon hour's into making signatures for people who may ask.

I have had numerous people tell me that they were hurt because the people who they made a signature for end up changing it so soon. Even though they just made them one, they go and ask another person. Is it because they don't like the signature that was made? Or what? I know how it feel's and it hurt's a bit, to make a signature, and be proud of it (Or not) and have someone change it in the next day or so.

Im not trying to be whiney, but i just wanted to voice my opinion because i know a bunch of you feel the same. Maybe this thread is completely pointless, I don't know, i just think it needed to be said.

*Edit*- To avoid any confusion, this thread is *NOT* intended to point finger's at anyone.

I really try not to do that. I like to change my siggy around and I'm always adding new things but when people make me blinkes, siggy ect. I try to use it for awhile. I don't make siggys but I know how it must feel to (like you said) be proud of something you make and then someone just doesn't use it.

    You mad a good point!

    THANK YOU!!!! lol

I feel like that a lot and it's really annoying as well as pretty disrespectful to the people that actually take their time and heart into making something nice for someone.

I'm glad someone finally said something!

Oh gosh, do I ever know what you mean. If someone makes me something, I'll use it regardless of whether I like it or not. I think it's only polite that you use whatever you asked for. I put at least half an hour (an hour 90% of the time) into my sigs. If they don't like it, then fine.

There was one that I spent FOREVER on (okay, not exactly forever) and they didn't even use it for more than a couple days (I don't know if they even used it?). I don't mind when people ask for specific colors and such but when you say "I want this name there, that name there, the dogs on one row, the cats on the second row, no blue, no pink, no green, no red, not too big, blah blah blah", it sort of limits our creativity (which is why I offer to do sigs in the first place. Really, if you want it done YOUR way, try making it yourself.

Camcampup I know you made me a signature and I was going to use it but then when i tried it said it wasn't available so then i just used the one Kay made me. I'm very sorry if I hurt your feelings but that's why I didn't use it. I try to keep a sig for a while though usually. I've LOVED every sig I've ever gotten

I agree, I would also hate that if I made signatures, I never do that(or I try not to) sometimes I may only have a signature up for 2-3 days, but I usually end up using it again(or on other forums, I go to a boxer & cat forum occasionaly)

I understand and I don't even make siggies! I'd be insulted if I made one that wasn't used.

I would think that it makes sense...
If you don't like it, please tell the maker what it is about it --- too busy? don't like the font? Don't like the color? I'm sure the siggy maker would be happy to tweek it and make it perfect!

Its very generous of everyone to offer their time and talent to make these wonderful siggies that we see here.

I never ask anyone to make me siggys but I love when people do (like when we had the siggy exchange...I really liked that!). Like the one I'm using now I feel bad that you would be taking up so much of your time to do something for me.
You put alot of time and effort into the siggys you make and I think you do a wonderful job!

    I have to agree.

I have noticed several people will come to my signature thread and ask for a signature. Then when I check out other peoples' signature threads, just to look at their beautiful work, I see that the VERY same person has asked for signatures from them too, at the very same time.

First of all, it takes me quite awhile to make signatures.....especially when I make 'sets', with a matching signature, avartar, and blinkie. Sometimes it takes an hour +. I *do* enjoy making them, but it feels good to know that the person you spent all that time for appreciates your work. When the person puts it up for one day and immediately changes it, or doesn't bother putting it up at all, honestly, it is very hurtful. And when someone asks me for a signature and I see that they have already asked someone else for one at the same time, I don't want to make one for them. Honestly, its because I know it hurts the other person they asked, and it hurts me too. When that happens, the signature someone spent so much time on never gets used. There have been times when I was too busy to make signatures, but I just didn't have the heart to tell the person asking me for one *no*. I slept at 1:30am that night, because I felt guilty about delaying it too much. After all that effort, the person put it up and replaced it with another after just two days.

When I make signatures for MYSELF, I keep it for months. I don't see why people ask when they're not going to keep it. It isn't fair to the one who spends so much time to make it for them.

I *love* making signatures, but I've been thinking of only making them for my close friends from now on........people who always appreciate them and keep them up there for awhile before changing them. There are people that I know truely appreciate it when I make stuff for them, and some of them keep their signatures up for months. It feels good to see people appreciate the time and effort you spent just for them, and I want to make those people signatures myself. Sometimes I make them signatures as a surprise, because I know they will appreciate it.

When there are people who ask you for signatures, and then discard them, you don't want to make them a signature again. It hurts, and I've been wanting to say something about this for quite sometime, but didn't know how to say it. I'm glad other people feel the same way.

If you want a signature, PLEASE ask only ONE person, and use their signature for at least a few weeks/months before asking someone else to make you a new one.

I am a total computer illiterate, so I don't know the first thing about making sigs, but I totally understand what you are saying. My feelings would be hurt too.

    Thank you Wolfie!

That would be me, until you pop up with another one for me, Popcornbird!!! Come to think of it, it looks like I need to add my Bennie bird into my signature, at least for a while! Get to work!!!

I had offers from KayAnn and Emma, too, after I had deleted my last signature and I appreciated that so much! I think you are all very thoughtful to spend your time doing this. I don't think I have ever "asked" for a signature before, but I know if I did, I would only ask one person at a time!!!

Thank you to all the signature makers. I always love seeing what's "next" for everyone! I have especially enjoyed Jessica's new signature featuring Dawn the last week or so. Isn't it beautiful??? If I tried to name all of the ones I have noticed, I'd be here forever! So I'll stop with that one.

I sure hope I do not hurt any feelings! I have several siggys by kimlovescats, one from popcornbird and now my newest one by BCBlondie - and I LOVE them all!! I use each and every one of them for a few weeks or months at a time and rotate them. I keep each one and love them! Each has their own style and I think it is great fun to use the variety as much as I like changing my clothes

Maybe you are literally talking about people only using a siggy for a few days and that is it?? If so, I would also find that rude and it hurt my feelings.

I'm going to stand up for the people who have sig's made and sometimes change them FOR GOOD REASONS. (to just change to change is NOT what I'm defending.)

(Hope this "someone" doesn't take offence to this, I'm not mad and I hope you aren't)
Not to long ago someone made me the most WONDERFUL siggy of Connor, I LOVED it so much but when I found out Breeze was leaving I wanted something to honor the time we had shared together. So I asked her to make me another one and she declined because she was to busy. She also said I just made one for you and I knew I had hurt her feelings and I should have explained more in my first PM. So I told her Breeze was leaving and I wanted one made for her. I then proceded to ask someone else to make me one and hence the siggy I have now.

I didn't change my siggy because I didn't like the one "someone" made for me (infact I think I will put it in again after Breeze is gone) and I didn't put it in because I got tierd of it. I changed it because something important had come up and I felt that it was important for me to make something to honor Breeze and the year she was in my life.

There seems to be alot of Bashing going on on PT latly. (not saying you shouldn't have posted this thread)
