    T & P’s Adventure Continues

Things went sooo much better this time. I got Peanut a new softsided carrier that opens from the top. Her stress level was so much less because she didn’t have the initial stress of being stuffed into the carrier. Just picked her up, plopped her in and zipped the top up – proceeding to zip her tail in the process – way to go mom! Terry was much more relaxed about the whole thing also, and actually carried Peanut from the car into the motorhome. Here they both are in a much more relaxed state.

Mom, I’m tired, would you put the camera away already?

I guess this leather stuff is ok, but where’s my blankie?

I thought this one was cute because Peanut was laying on my pillow. I had to make the bed around her, and as she fell more and more asleep, she got flatter and flatter in the pillow. 

They’ve taken to sitting by the screen door, watching all the activity outside – if there is any activity – and sniffing all the good breezes that come through the door. The good news is that Peanut is still skittish enough that as soon as you near the door she will run away so I don’t have to worry about her getting out. Tubby on the other hand, will not bolt, but he won’t move either. It’s one thing to walk around a cat on regular stairs, but to step over/around him on these narrow stairs is quite the feat – and I usually shoo him in so I don’t end up stumbling and killing us all.

    And here’s an inside view.

I was inside, Terry was outside putzing with the step lights. Peanut wanted to keep an eye on him, but she didn’t want him keeping an eye on her so she hid behind his shirt.

    Peekaboo, it’s Peanut!

Peanut was much more active this weekend – a good sign that she’s becoming more comfortable. Here she is checking out what’s going on outside. I need to figure out how to rig up a little ledge so they can sit right by the windows.

All that excitement makes me have to go pee pee.

The litterbox in the shower is working out well. They do track litter everywhere, but I guess they’re going to do that no matter where I put the box. I really need to put it in here because sometimes Tubby doesn’t squat enough and “overshoots” the sides of the box. This way when he does that, it’s soaked up by the towel, and whatever is excess that the towel can’t soak up, just hits the fiberglass sides/bottom of the shower, which then gets washed down the drain instead of soaking into the wood, tile or carpeting if I put the box somewhere else. It’s kind of a pain because I have to clean the shower really well before we take a shower so none of the litter goes down the drain, but it’s not that big of a deal. Once a day everything gets cleaned up really well, which is a good thing anyway.

    Mom, is that a D-O-G I see!?

Hmmm…..I heard drawer sitting was a fun past time.

    What’s up there?

She keeps looking up all the time. I don’t know what she sees up there. There is a TV right above the drawers and with the black screen; I think she might think it’s just a black hole – potential hidey hole. I did lift her up so she could see that it wasn’t a hole and that she couldn’t fit in around the TV, but she still keeps looking up – she’s such a nosey little thing.

What’s going on over there? (the people on the other side of the road had 2 dogs. One puppy and one older one. Seems that this weekend everybody had dogs, and I’m not exaggerating!).

Then the dogs on the other side caught his attention! Notice how he had all this grass to sit on, but he had to sit right on top of the newspaper.

Tubby relaxing on my lap. He has taken to wanting to sit on my lap. He just sits there and watches everything, looking over here, then over there, then oh – what’s going on over there?! He’s so funny.

    Checking things out.

Peanut in her carrier on the way home. Not a peep out of her the entire way, quite the difference from last weekend. This new carrier is a godsend! And of course that is Tubby’s head. He was on my lap as usual.

And one last video of Tubby finishing up a walk.

Oh, and FYI, most of the videos are speeded up to double time again. These guys just don't do anything fast these days, and the videos are HUGE, so to make them a little more reasonable size for downloading, I've double timed them.

Looks like EVERYONE is having a wonderful time! Where are you guys?
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

We are at Shabbona Lake in Northern Central Illinois. Really nice man made lake that was made just for fishing. 318 acres of lake, and about a 10' sand beach. Afterall, it's a fishing lake.

It's a really nice area though, and yes, Lisa, it was low 50's in the mornings and only got to mid 70's during the day. There was also a breeze, so sitting in the shade when the sun went behind a cloud was COLD - brrr.....thus the big insulated "lumberjack" shirt.

Debbie, I love your pictures and video's of T&P "camping" or should I say "RV'ing". This is what I hope to do with Smokey or maybe Gracie and her brother. Of course we don't have a motorcoach like yours (just a hybrid camper) but I want to take someone camping with me...it's just not the same sleeping and no kitties to keep me warm at night.

Thank you for telling us you speed up the videos....for a minute I thought I was loosing my mind...I thought Minnie Mouse was in the coach with you.

Great photos and great videos too!
I love the way that Tubby and Peanut have to check out every piece of furniture, every view from every window and every little nook and cranny.
I think it is so sweet the way that Terry helped boost Peanut into the drawer.
I think Peanut may be a little embarrassed that you posted a photo of her in the litter box.
I think that Tubby feels really safe on you lap when you are outside, Samantha always sticks close to me when we are out in the yard together.
I'm happy to hear that you have two happy travelers to join you on your trips now.

Psst Tubby, next time you're sitting on mom's lap helping her to drive make sure that she heads east to Vermont...
    Come to Vermont...
    Come to Vermont...
    Samantha is waiting for you...

OMG, you guys! The volume on my computer was turned up, but the volume on Windows Media Viewer was turned all the way down, so I didn't even realize there was sound to these videos! Now I'll have to go back and watch the originals again to see what we were saying.

Looks like Tubby and Peanut had a blast. Lucky kitties to be able to go on vacation with their mommy.
