Sassafras Root (RB) did something really cute last Christmas. It may have been pure coincidence, but the memory of it cheers me. The cat toys (well, except the ones scattered hither and yon throughout the house) are kept in two open wicker baskets so the cats can access them as they want them. Both boys had little teddy bears with Santa caps from their first Christmas which had wound up in the baskets for many months.
Just before Christmas, Sassy went to the toy basket and unearthed his 'Santa Teddy'. He would curl up and nap with it, and even lugged it to the top of the bookcase once. I never got a photo of him with his special Santa, but do treasure the memories of this special guy and his stuffed 'Santa Claws'.
