    T & P Outside

T & P are really getting used to their new little "cage" and I really think they're starting to like it! Tubby used to only get excited about going outside when I got his leash out, but now he'll come stand by the back door, look up at me and wait for me to pick him up and carry him outside - he's a quick learner.

Here's Tubby right after I set him in.

Then Peanut shows up and he has to go sniff her as if he's never seen her before in his life.

Then they both get distracted by a bird or something.

Then, after destroying the catnip plant, they both settle down for some serious breeze sniffing.

    And

The other day a very brave and snotty chipmunk ran right past the edge of the cage! Peanut got all excited and crouched like she was going to pounce on it, but he quickly disappeared and I don't think Tubby even saw it. If he did, he didn't move at all.

I think that cage is so neat.

I'd love to get one for my guys but I'm so afraid if they go out once they will drive me crazy to get out all the time.

Aww! Did Peanut do the little butt wiggle thing when she saw the chipmunk and ack-ack-ack?

Wow. Now that looks like a nifty cat playpen!

And T&P are truly regal in there.

Tubby and Peanut, you got a good mom there, attuned to your every wish...a screened in porch complete with catnip plant! What a life! You must be very good kids to motivate such a loving gesture.

Awwwe! such cute picture of T & P! I love that enclosure! It is such a neat idea for the kitties. I'm with Lori though that mine would constantly be driving me crazy to go out!! At least I wouldn't have to worry about them if they did.
You can tell in the pictures that T&P sure love it!

That's the beauty of this! Tubby has always begged to go outside - Peanut not so much. But now I find it much easier to let them out, so they get to go out much more often. I find lately that I do my school work out there, while they bask in the breezes. I could never have done this if I still took them out on their leashes. I can't do *anything* if they are out on their leashes except watch them and untangle them. This works out sooo much better for all of us.

Nice cage! That was just a fantastic idea! Looks like such a cool place too. Added with catnip, it is perfect for the kitties!

What a terrific idea! fresh air and sunshine, and a little kitty pot also! I'd love to do something like that in the backyard, but the yard's too small, and I'd have to be sure it was escape proof so the few resident ferals didn't get out!

Oh, just wait until they give you that forlorn look, over the shoulder and say....

What a nifty idea!! I'd love to do something like that for our cats... maybe once we get a house... Have you thought about putting a cat tree out there or anything?

They look so relaxed out there! Great pics!

No, it's only 4' tall. When I very first brought it out for them, I put a footstool out there for Peanut to be under (she likes to hide under things, and I put Tubby's purr pad out for him, but they both wanted nothing to do with those "things." So now they get catnip and a bowl of water and they're happy!

And besides, neither T or P climb much anymore and the number one most important reason they don't have a cat tree out there is because....are you ready....they don't have a cat tree! I just never had room in the small apartments I lived in and then they got old.....

However, it does have a top net that goes on it, so if you have younger cats that are inclined to jump, you could put the top on it and give them a little cat tree or something.

Thanks everybody, yes, they are spoiled, but that's only right since they are my babies.

I would love to have an enclosure like that. Did you have it made or did you buy it like that? Unfortunately it’s way to hot here to be outside for most of the summer.

Thanks to BCBlondie for this great signature!
