    English Bulldog pups

A friend of mine breeds English Bulldogs. These pics are a few months old, I'd forgotten to share them. I think English Bulldogs are such cute puppies!

    Oh how cute!!!!

I have to ask a question, I heard once a long time ago that English Bulldogs, because of their body type, have a very hard time getting pregnant and giving birth, so most are artificially inseminated?? Is this true??

Usually, yes.... also, just about all litters from bulldog females have be born via c-section because of the position of the womb.

Yes, they are very difficult to breed. It costs them on average about $3000 a litter. Not only do they have to artificially inseminate them but they also have to have monthly checkups throughout the pregnancy. I am not sure if she has them by caeserean or natural. But he also had to invest on heat lamps and oxygen because the pups die easily.

I do wish they breed the bullie physique back some. It's because of the continually breeding to get the large head and small hips that gives them such trouble breeding and being born!

Look at this - a typical bulldog from 100 years ago. Isn't he just as cute? Bet his momma gave birth to him naturally, too!

That said, were those pups any closer, I'd snatch one up in a minute to give to Dad - he grew up with English bullie dogs!

Antonio's physique is about like that. I know what you mean though. They looked alot better back then. I am not positive but I think the female has them naturally. This is the second litter I have seen and they've never mentioned a c-section nor have I noticed a scar.

He's here right now, so I asked. They did have to have ceasareans.
