I have to say, biased or not, she has to be the best puppy ever.
She has not had one accident in the house. She has not touched anything (leaves outside an exception, she loves them) that's not hers. She comes when called. And she's just too darn ADORABLE.
I'm pretty sure she thinks she owns the place already. You should see her jump on the couch and chairs, like hey.. this is my spot! She is just crazy with those toys. You all should have seen it her first night home, she and Nala had all of the toys out and in the living room. They went from one toy to the other.
All she knows to date is "sit".. which she does when you tell her to. Maybe it's just me, but she looks alot smaller than Nala was. Nala was around 15 lbs at 8 weeks, and Kiara is around 15 weeks and around 15 lbs. She has the cutest little face.
The only people who have seen her in person are me, my parents, my nextdoor neighbor (Gunner's mom) and Lauren met her tonight.
Tomorrow she gets to meet my brother, whom we're picking up from the airport at 5 in the morning. My brother will want to steal her as he loves Rottie/Rottie mixes. Sunday she gets to meet my sister because she's coming over my my mother's birthday.
Right now, as I type, she's cuddled up with Nala on the couch. I was kissing and holding Nala, and Kiara came crawling across the couch (she was at the other end) and cuddled up with us.
Nala and Kiara adore eachother, and Simba is just being a grumpy pants with her. Sometimes he's fine, others he just lets out a growl and lets her know to leave him be... even if she's not doing anything other than sniffing. Sometimes I just feel horrible though. I wish I were able to talk to Simba and ask him how he feels about this.... I don't want to make him feel unhappy or unwanted. I give each and everyone of them equal attention, and whenever I want to kiss/hold/pet Kiara I cuddle Simba and Nala first. They're my babies... Simba's my boy... and he'll always be my boy. I hope he knows that.
Kiara seems to be a very smart girl... One thing I know for sure is that she is my last dog, until the unfortunate happening of loosing one of them. Three is enough for this house and that's alot coming from me as I'd have a whole house-full if it was possible.
Kiara and Simba have an appointment to vets this Monday. Simba is going in for his yearly and Kiara is going in because the Humane Society makes it manditory that they visit a vet within 7 days.
Some nicknames Kiara has already, and she doesn't even fully know her real name --
Kikidee , or Kikidoo. (Mom calls her Kikidee after an old band?)
