Celebrity Cats

I have today off and have been catching a little of Live with Regis. I don't know if anyone has been watching it, but he just told a story about his cat (I knew I liked this man!!

) Anyway, he was talking about his cat "throwing itself against the bedroom door to get in." Sound familiar to anyone??

Also he found a new place to rub his kitty. He said he rubs his kitty right around the outside of his/her ear and the cat absolutely loves it (imitated the cat's expression)....too funny for words! I've just gotta say I have seen that same expression on both of my cats' faces when I rub there. Three cheers for Regis. Great stories today. Jay Leno has also had some interesting comments regarding his cat. Anyone know any more celebs with kitties?

Pam, your post gave me an idea. Wouldn't it be terrific if all celebreties talked about their animals more. They all seem to be on talk shows and they could be examples for others on how to treat your animals well, with respect and love.

So many of our immigrants who have come to America for a better life, seem to think that you buy a dog, chain it up in the backyard and that's it. You have a dog.
Or you have a cat - unneutered and free to roam. All you have to do is feed it. It all gets down to education. Certainly in many other countries having a "pet" is a luxury - they can be expensive. Here, we are busy buying gifts or dressing them up, discussing the "best" food or taking them to the "best" vet.

I bet most celebreties would love to talk a little bit about their animals, how they love the kids, sleep with them, guard them. And they could be a great example for others.

Ophrah is always talking about her cocker spaniels - and they go with her everywhere.

Just a thought.

Yes Gini, I would love to hear celebrities talk more about their pets. It makes them seem more "normal".....more like us!

I have heard Oprah talk about her dogs (I think she also has a couple of Golden Retrievers). Jay Leno has actually done a couple of funny video-type things with his cat (starts with his real cat in the video and alters it somehow to have the cat doing funny things.....you can see the fake paws and all) but it's hysterical. I think his cat is a Maine Coon and it looks very lovable.
