    Min Pin's

    Hi all!

We have a 5 month old min pin - He is adorable, but I'd really like to work on building his trust and trying to find learning games we can play with him to not only exercise him, but get him to be less "spunky" with our other dog - Any thoughts?

Hi and welcome to Pet Talk. You are correct in assuming your puppy needs both play and exercise. Getting him to be *less spunky* may not be an easy task. Afterall, he is still a puppy with puppy attitude and wants to play. Is your other dog older and not interested in playing? Some dogs never do learn to play together, and if that is the case (as it is with my two), you have to pick up the slack.

Do set aside some time each day to interact and play with your pup - at least 30 minutes. Hannah has always enjoyed playing with and retrieving a Kong. They do make small ones that should be the right size for Mini Pin to handle. If he enjoys stuffed doggy toys, you can make them *come alive* for him. They also have tiny little tennis balls which your dog should enjoy. As far as *learning games* are concerned, your pup is old enough to start to learn some basic obedience. You might want to investigate some puppy kindergarden classes first to give yours the opportunity to interact with some others in his age group.
