    milk jug rings

My cat is a stitch! He just loves to bring me milk jug rings so I can toss them and he can chase them down! Sometimes he will toss them into the air himself. This keeps him occupied for at least a half and hour a night. Needless to say, we have milk jug rings everywhere in the house...once in a while I collect them together and throw them out...then we start over. Even the action and sound of opening a new jug of milk or water will bring him running...anybody else play this way??

It's so funny how they play with ordinary things that they find around the house, but will totally ignore the toys that you go out and buy for them! Charlie found a piece of gold string, the kind you wrap presents with, and that's his favorite toy. Sometimes when I come home from work, he's by the door with the string, waiting for me to play. In the mornings, he will leave the string by my bed or near the bathroom door in the hopes that I'll have time to drag the string around a few times for him!

Any balled up piece of paper is a hit around here!

Oh Jazzer loves strings too! I have a long fuzzy kind of string on a clear plastic stick...it was a Christmas gift from a friend and cat lover...he has been playing with that thing for 3 years. Of course its knotted up and grody looking, but he loves to chase it! So we take a twirl around the house at least once or twice a day. He keeps me pretty well trained and active....I will always be owned by a cat! They are the best!

The funny thing about my cats, I often find their toys in their beds, or in their food or water bowl, and even in my shoes!

Oh, I forgot to mention-tying shoelaces when Charlie is around is nearly impossible!
...and I have a pair of sweatpants with the strings hanging down the front...if I don't remember to keep those strings tucked in, I get "attacked" whenever I walk around!

I find those milk jug rings in my bed all the time, and in the bathtub too! Jazz will bring me the bottle rings when I'm trying to sleep. He wants to play all the time. He is 8 years old and still plays like a kitten.

Drawstrings on pants and jackets are fair game. DJ, under the stove and couch are goldmines, too.

My two LOVE an old drawstring from a long dead pair of sweatpants. I come home from work, the string, an old sock, and several sparkle balls are all lying on the couch next to them. We have "string time". I toss it, they chase it, toss, chase. They've trained me well!

I just bought a new couch and it has space under it (my old one was a hide a bed), sooooo you can imagine the delight Jazz has over being able to go under the couch and play.....we play 'get my paw, if you can', and yes, there are now foil balls and paper and milk jug rings under the couch

I had a little calico named Yankee who had a big orange rabbit's foot (fake) that she would play with for hours, throwing it up in the air, kicking it around (even with her back feet like she was playing soccer!), carrying it around in her mouth. But sometimes, after playing for awhile, she would seek me out, meowing plaintively. That's when I knew she had either kicked it under the couch, the refrigerator, or the pantry door and needed me to rescue it for her!

Every now and then I grab a yardstick and do a sweep under the furniture....refrigerator, hutch, sofa, microwave cart. When my cats see me get the yardstick they follow me as if they were walking with an invisible leash! They know where I am headed and they can't wait to be re-united with their long "lost" things!
