Back in January/February my little bunny Cinnabun (http://petoftheday.com/archive/2004/January/06.html) went blind due a damaged corenea of an unknown cause. She adjusted pretty well to being blind and so I didn't worry to much about her. Then about a month ago I noticed she had really gone down in condition and had gotten very thin and just didn't look very happy or act her normal self. I continued to give her lots of extra love and treats hoping she would be back to her old bouncy self in no time!
Today when I was outside I took her out to take some photos of her...I immediatly checked her over to see how she looked...she was quite thin still. But then as I backed up to take a picture I noticed she kept tilting and turning her head to the left...which is a symptom of Wry Neck...or horrible disease Holland Lops can often get (lost one rabbit to it last year). I continued to watch her for about 20 minutes hoping it would stop but it didn't. I'm now possitive she has Wry Neck. There is no cure for it...I'm now trying to deal with the hard choice of putting her down or not...of course I want to keep her...but she already looked unhappy and now this? It doesn't seem fair for her to live...I know in my heart it probably is the best thing to do......
It's just so unfair...I've already lost 2 of my fur babies this year...I don't want to lose anymore...and she's the sweetest little bunny!!!
